The latest Dragon Quest title is selling at a faster rate when compared to its predecessor.
Media Create reports that 2,318,932 copies of Dragon Quest IX have been sold in Japan for the first two days in the market. When Dragon Quest VIII was released for the PS2 in 2004, it sold 2.23 million copies in the first two days, which shows that the latest Dragon Quest title is already selling at a faster pace.

Hudson is working on Calling, a traditional survival horror game exclusively for Wii.
Hudson recently announced that they are developing Calling, a new traditional horror game for Wii.
In the game, there are no weapons or armor to protect yourself against the enemies that inhabit the game. Players will instead use flashlights, cell phones, and other items to aid them as they visit various locations in an alternate world. In order to survive, they will have to solve puzzles and interact with objects in the world.

Nintendo's classic portable games will be reborn on Japanese DSiWare.
According to their Japanese website, Nintendo will start releasing classic Game & Watch titles on DSiWare in Japan starting next week.
There will initially be nine games from the Game & Watch series that will be released in the next two months. Each game will be priced at 200 DSi Points ($2).

Nikkei reveals that there is tremendous demand for the next Dragon Quest game.
A recent story in the Japanese business newspaper Nikkei Industrial reports that the amount of pre-orders for the hotly-anticipated Dragon Quest IX has appeared to surpass two million copies. According to retailers, this figure is higher than previous Dragon Quest games. Some are even expecting Dragon Quest IX to sell more than five million copies.

Theme park guests will be able to experience Wii Sports Resort at various Six Flags locations.
Six Flags Theme Parks has announced that they have extended their partnership with Nintendo as part of a promotion for the upcoming Wii Sports Resort. The deal will let guests experience Wii Sports Resort before its U.S. release at selected Six Flags locations starting on July 4. The deal will also include in-park promotions of the highly-anticipated game.

Rockstar’s drug-addled masterpiece achieves a rare feat.
The Japanese version of Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will be the first DS title to carry the CERO Z rating for adult content. Even though all GTA titles have been rated Z in Japan, this is only the second title on a Nintendo console to receive the rating. The first was Capcom and Suda 51’s Killer 7, which debuted on the GameCube.

The initiative to attract inexperienced gamers will be present in future DS titles.
Andriasang reports that Nintendo's Demo Play feature will be available in future DS games as well. A story by Japanese newspaper Nikkei confirms that not only will New Super Mario Bros. Wii be the first title to feature Demo Play, but that this initiative will be focused on high-speed action games on the DS as well.

Players will be able to download the rare DS game in pieces.
Electroplankton, which was originally released on the DS in 2006, is coming to Japanese DSiWare soon.
The game is a music-making tool where players manipulate neon fish in order to produce various sounds or music. There were ten different musical programs in the retail version of Electroplankton. These programs will be split up into separate releases on DSiWare for 200 DSi Points ($2) each.

Xseed is localizing the latest Wii title from Namco's Project Aces team.
Xseed Games recently revealed to IGN that they will localize and publish The Sky Crawlers: Innocent Aces in North America.
The Sky Crawlers is an arcade flight simulator for the Wii developed by Project Aces, who are responsible for the Ace Combat games. In the game you play as Lynx, a rookie pilot that joins the Sky Crawlers squadron and is involved in a secret project that makes pilots immortal.
