The WiiWare title brings home the gold as Best Euro Game.

NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits recently won the "Best Euro Game" award at the Dutch Game awards. The game, developed and published by Madrid-based Over the Top Games, has been available on the Wii Shop channel since June. Developed by a team of four, NyxQuest is a side-scrolling platformer steeped in Greek mythology. It has received much critical praise since its release.

Eight titles were nominated for the award across multiple platforms, including Anno: Create A New World for Wii and DS. Another notable WiiWare title given an award earlier in the evening was Ronimo's Swords and Soldiers, which won the Best Original Gameplay Award and the Control Magazine Industry Award. Notable game designer Peter Molyneux was in attendance, and handed out some awards during the evening. This is the second year for the Dutch Game Awards.

The award winning NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits is currently available on the Wii Shop channel for 1,000 Wii Points. A demo of the game, available for free, was released to the Wii Shop channel yesterday.

NyxQuest wins "Best Euro Game" at the Dutch Game Awards

Amersfoort (Nov. 13, 2009) - NyxQuest: Kindred Spirits, published by Madrid-based indie developers "Over the Top Games", wins the Best Euro Game category at the Dutch Game Awards.

The Dutch Game Awards are an aknowledgement of the creativity, expertise and business achievements of young Game Developers. This award represents a very important step for "Over the Top Games".

NyxQuest is the first game by this company. Without big resources, but a lot of passion and illusion, the four friends that form the studio managed to develop a game that provides a unique and original gameplay experience for WiiWare™ players. NyxQuest plunges its players into the fantastic epicentre of the beautiful story of Nyx and Icarus. Using the Wii Remote, the player is able to help its character with several divine powers to move obstacles, control the winds and shoot rays at the screen. The game is available since June through WiiWare, the Wii™ online store.

Earlier in the evening, several trophies were handed out at the Dutch Game Awards to games like Killzone 2 and Swords and Soldiers. Recognized game developer Peter Molyneux was an honor guest at the ceremony and handed out some of the awards.
