The team responsible for the concept of de Blob and its original creation has announced their latest venture, a side-scrolling strategy title called Swords & Soldiers.

Ronimo Games, known best for their creation of the de Blob concept, has announced their latest venture, Swords & Soldiers, a side-scrolling strategy game for WiiWare. According to Ronimo Games' co-founder, Fabian Akker, "[de Blob] definitely gave us the opportunity to start our own company," and it showed us "that we can make cool games and function as a good team."

The two acclaimed developers say they work well together because Mikami makes games "play good" and Suda makes "visuals good."

Shinji Mikami and Goichi Suda, also known as Suda 51, recently signed a deal with EA to publish an unrevealed game. In an interview with 1UP, they discussed the genesis of the upcoming game and their relationship with EA.

Unbelievable growth in the market over the past few years is giving Nintendo reason enough to more aggressively pursue it.

In an interview with Reggie Fils-Aime at the Nintendo NEX Latin America 2008 conference in Playa Bonita, Panama, it was revealed that Nintendo intends to more aggressively pursue the Latin American market. According to Fils-Aime, "Nintendo has experienced phenomenal growth in the region over the past few years, growth that has even surpassed what we have seen in the United States."

High Voltage's anticipated first person shooter will be playable at Nintendo's booth at the Penny Arcade Expo.

High Voltage Software announced that their upcoming game, The Conduit, will be featured at Nintendo's booth later this month at the Penny Arcade Expo. "PAX is jam-packed wall-to-wall with passionate game fans," said Eric Nofsinger, Chief Creative Officer at High Voltage. "We are incredibly honored to be featured there at Nintendo's booth. It's a fantastic opportunity for us to receive input and feedback directly from other gamers."

The classic RPG is scheduled to hit North American shores on November 25, 2008.

Square Enix revealed that the previously announced DS port of Chrono Trigger will be coming to North America on November 25, 2008. Originally released in 1995 on the SNES, Chrono Trigger is one of the most acclaimed and revered games of all time.
