Allegedly, the total cost of components is around $100.
According to UBM TechInsights, when broken down into components and raw materials, the total value of the 3DS is $101 USD, which is around $15 more expensive than the DSi was reportedly made for.

The sequel to the NES classic will arrive on the Japanese WiiWare service this summer.
The recently announced sequel River City Ransom has now been confirmed for a WiiWare release.
Initially announced for the PC and another unspecified console, today the developer Miracle Kidz announced that the unspecified console is in fact the Wii.
The game will hit the Japanese WiiWare service sometime this summer, much earlier than the PC version which will arrive sometime next year.

The Square Enix RPG is finally hitting the Virtual Console.
Today Nintendo released a list of games that are heading to the Japanese Virtual Console in April.
Three games will be released on the service next month, led by the highly-anticipated Chrono Trigger from Square Enix. The game, which was released for the SNES in 1995, will run at a premium price of 900 Nintendo Points, 100 higher than most SNES games, but standard for RPGs in Japan.

The game is still in development, and still has the Duke Nukem brand.
Duke Nukem: Critical Mass, also known as Extraction Point: Alien Shootout, is still set for a Nintendo DS release. The game was original going to be known as Duke Nukem Trilogy, a series of three original new games for release on Nintendo DS and Sony PSP.

Nintendo of Europe will bring Tecmo Koei's new fighter to European territories.
Today Nintendo of Europe and Tecmo Koei announced that Nintendo will distribute Dead of Alive Dimensions in Europe later this year.
Under the terms of the agreement, Nintendo will take care of the sales, marketing and distribution of the game in Europe, while Tecmo Koei will remain as the publisher. A similar arrangement is in place with Capcom for Super Street Fighter IV 3D.

Ubisoft's Splinter Cell 3DS runs on the Unreal game engine.

Along with a confirmed release date, the Resident Evil title for the 3DS has new box art.
Famitsu has revealed the box art for Capcom's Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D.
Along with the announcement of a June 2 release date for Japan, Famitsu gives its readers a look at the game's boxart. It features Chris Redfield, Claire Redfield, and Hunk.

The upcoming crossover title may appear on Nintendo's 3D handheld.
Street Fighter producer Yoshinori Ono believes that a 3DS port of the crossover game Street Fighter X Tekken should happen.
In an interview with Eurogamer, Yoshinori Ono expressed his thoughts on the possibility of a 3DS port.
"I think that's an amazing thing. The next step would be to have Street Fighter x Tekken, which is the celebration of all top fighting gamers' dreams in one, to be on 3DS, where you can play anywhere you want."

Toys "R" Us is offering a buy one, get one half off deal to all customers who purchase Nintendo 3DS games at the retailer when 3DS launches this Sunday. With most 3DS games costing $39.99 this will cut the cost of two games from $80 to $60.

The biggest launch since the Wii in 2006 will take place in the city that never sleeps.
Nintendo will be hosting a massive launch event in New York City, starting on Saturday, March 26, 2011 and concluding on Sunday with the release of the 3DS. The event starts at 9:00pm at the Best Buy in Union Square, where attendees waiting in line will be able to try out the 3DS for the first time.

Kadokawa Games announced that its upcoming Wii RPG, Earth Seeker, has been delayed.
Originally set to be released in Japan on April 7, the game has been pushed to an unknown date due to "various circumstances."

Nintendo of America President Reggie Fils-Aime reiterated Nintendo's stance on working not with "hobbyist developers." The head of the 3DS project explains why the downloadable game service will not launch with the new handheld.
The eShop will not launch with the 3DS because of the complexity of the eShop service and Nintendo's desire for it to be fully ready prior to going live.

Nippon Ichi reveals details on its first Nintendo 3DS title.
Nippon Ichi Software is currently developing Bikkuriman Kanjyuku Haoh: Sanmi Douran Sensouki, a tabletop-style game for the Nintendo 3DS.
The game requires players to combine kanji, which are found on stickers, to make new words. For example, when you combine the kanji for ‘demon’ with the kanji for ‘king’, you get ‘demon king’, which has its own attack. The stickers are found in Lotte brand chocolate wafer packs.

A webpage on Nintendo Greece's website appears to show the logo for 3DSWare. Clicking on the link leads to a page that lists "no products."
Little is known about the downloadable content service on the Nintendo 3DS eShop. The "3DSWare" name was known to be trademarked by Nintendo in Japan and Europe, but the name has not been confirmed in an official capacity until now.

Nazo Waku Yakata makes use of 3DS graphics and sound.
Capcom announced a new 3DS title, called Nazo Waku Yakata, which is
a "sound adventure" game that doesn't use buttons, according to
Famitsu.
It takes place in a mansion that players must explore using the
touch screen, gyroscope, and microphone. The goal is to progress through
