The first details and picture of the Revolution surface.
USA Today has an article on the Nintendo Revolution (currently still a code-name), showing a picture of the console.
The console has a front loading slot that can play games on full size DVDs as well as the smaller GameCube discs. It looks like a small flat box and has no visible controller ports as it will use only wireless controllers.

Update: Nintendo clarifies some of the language on its website.
Update: Nintendo has revised some of the text in their website post, removing the reference to "standard double-layered DVD discs", and replacing it with the following.
"Nintendo's legions of loyal fans will be happy to learn that Revolution will be backward compatible, playing both Nintendo GameCube 8cm disks along with its own 12cm optical disks in the same self-loading media drive."

By now, everyone knows just about everything there is to know about Xbox 360. Nintendo, on the other hand, has kept a fairly tight lid on the details of their next console, codenamed Revolution.
