The spooky DS RPG will arrive just in time for Halloween.
NIS America released a brand new trailer for A Witch's Tale for the DS. In the game you play as Liddell a trainee witch who aspires to be the best witch in the world. Throughout the game you will encounter fairy tale-like characters. Battles are shown in the first person and make extensive use of the touch screen to select skills and cast spells.

Three brand new gameplay trailers for Monster Racers released.
Koei released three different gameplay trailer for their upcoming DS game Monster Racers. Players will collect, breed, and raise monsters in order to ultimately enter them in various races.
The first trailer shows how players will pick one of the three starter monsters when obtaining their monster-racing license.

The strategy RPG series finally makes its way to North America on the Wii.
NIS America recently released a new trailer for the strategy RPG Sakura Wars: So Long, My Love. The trailer highlights various features in the game and details that it will ship with two discs. Both discs contain the entire game, however; one disc will feature English voice-overs, while the other will have the original Japanese voice-overs.

As NWR recently reported, a game release date list in this week's Famitsu revealed a new DSiWare title from Hudson Soft entitled "Itsudemo Bomberman" ("Bomberman Anytime"). Today Hudson officially announced this title for North America and Europe as Bomberman Blitz.

The good professor sees a healthy debut in August.
According to the NPD Group, Professor Layton and the Diabolical Box has sold 67,500 copies since its August 24 debut. The puzzle-solving franchise has seen a solid reception since the first title, Professor Layton and the Curious Village, debuted last year in North America.

Fireworks and flowers are combined in one family-friendly title.
Australian game developer Nocturnal Entertainment has announced the impending WiiWare release of their title Flowerworks. The game stars a confused alien named Follie, who crash lands on the planet Elilia while transporting a shipment of flowerworks (flowers that shoot fireworks) for her aunty.

Today Interplay announced a resurrection of the Clayfighter franchise, for release next summer via Nintendo's digital distribution platforms. The games will be developed by the original programmer of the Super NES version of Clayfighter, which was released in 1993.

Nintendo has released a comprehensive release date calendar that highlights all the first-party and third-party releases during and after the holiday season for Wii, WiiWare, DS, and DSiWare. While Nintendo is only releasing a handful of titles during the holiday season, the release schedule is dominated with games from many third-party publishers.

A new kind of quest will have players teaming up with each other via Wi-Fi.
SquareEnix recently announced that Dragon Quest IX will offer a new feature called "Wi-Fi Quest". Wi-Fi Quests are co-operative quests in which players join online and complete them by playing as a team. The quests are assigned by the "World Inn Cooperative" and require large amounts of players to complete.

Players will finally get to meet the Wonderful Wizard on their DS this September.
XSEED Games has announced the release date of the DS RPG The Wizard of Oz: Beyond the Yellow Brick Road. The title will be released on September 29.
Based on the fantasy novels by L. Frank Baum (which also inspired the beloved feature film of the same name), Beyond the Yellow Brick Road will feature classic characters such as Dorothy Gale, The Tinman, and even the Cowardly Lion as they travel the land of Oz in an epic RPG adventure.

The little bomber is going portable.
This week's Famitsu release listing has revealed an upcoming DSiWare Bomberman title from Hudson Soft. Entitled "Itsudemo Bomberman" (roughly translated as "Bomberman Anytime"), it is apparently releasing in Japan in October for 500 DSi Points.
The last new Bomberman game to come to a Nintendo platform was Bomberman Blast, released on WiiWare in September 2008.

Bonk returns, and he'll try to survive extinction on WiiWare.
Hudson Soft has released the first trailer for their upcoming revival of the Bonk franchise, Bonk: Brink of Extinction.
Players will once again play as the giant-headed caveman as he survives the dinosaur age and puts his noggin to good use.
Bonk: Brink of Extinction will be released in early 2010 on WiiWare.

Capcom continues to release new Spyborgs videos. This time, they have released a new video which they dub "Bouncer and Stinger Bromance".
The video showcases main characters Bouncer and Stinger as they mow down many enemies, and pull off several co-operative combos and moves.

Snowboarding and Skiing events are shown off on the DS.
Sega has released a new trailer for the DS version of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games. The latest trailer shows off skiing and snowboarding. It also shows some of the new characters that will be participating in the Winter Olympics, such as Donkey Kong for Mario's team.
Both the DS and Wii versions of Mario and Sonic at the Olympic Winter Games will be released on October 13.

The Pokemon phenomenon manages to capture the heart and soul of millions once again.
According to Famitsu.com, Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver have sold 1.5 million copies in Japan in after just two days of release.
The titles are remakes of Pokemon Gold and Silver, the second game in the series released on the Game Boy Color back in 2000. The DS version features updated graphics similar to Pokemon Diamond and Pearl, and features new apps such as the pedometer.

The Nintendo Channel gets a brand new interface and several new features. UPDATED with official Press Release, and Nintendo Week show information.
A few months ago, Nintendo updated the Everyone's Nintendo Channel in Japan. Today, Nintendo released this update in North America. If you try to launch an older version of the Nintendo Channel, you will be prompted to go to the Wii Shop Channel and download the update. The new channel boasts many new features and enhancements, such as USB keyboard support for text input.

Spike to publish Sega's ultra-gory Wii title in Japan.
While Sega has released MadWorld in North America and Europe, the publisher has yet to release the title in Japan. Famitsu has revealed that Spike will be publishing the game in Japan.
A copyright notice on the Famitsu source reveals that Sega still owns the rights to the franchise. MadWorld will be rated Cero Z (the equivalent of the ESRB's AO rating), and will be released in Japan this winter.
