Hey, I liked the Smurfs. La la la la la, la la la la.  Smurfette was hot, for a cloned smurf.  Carebears were okay, but too sugary.  I prefer the older TMNT, but the new one is okay.

Wait, wait, Hostile- you're basing your opinion of an entire SERIES based on one part you saw of one episode? Tha't like playing half the first level of a Mario game and saying it sucks. It really pisses me off when people think they can judge something as large as a television series, which takes such an incredible amount of work few people here even realize it, by watching 15 minutes of it. Do yourself a favor and watch the whole thing before forming a conclusion on Kikaider, and if you don't want to watch the whole thing, don't form a conclusion.

I specifically said I should watch more.  Perhaps I was being a bit harsh , but the concept certainly is overused.  I can understand the seeing the rest of the episodes bit, since if I had seen Speak Like a Child before any other Cowboy Bebop episode, I probably wouldn't have bothered watching more (great episode, but certainly not the one you should watch first).  However, any other episode would have me hooked.  Thing with a Mario level is I doubt there's one that wouldn't make me want to play another.  Each episode should be a microcosm for the entire series, and while that's not always the case, it usually is.

I might watch more episodes of it, though I have no particular desire to.  I'm not trying to imply that it's a bad series, just not something I would enjoy watching. . . a show that revolves around a philosophy, to me, is boring.  I watch them to have fun, and I can certainly develop my own philosophies.  To others, maybe like you, it's much better than something without one, say, Invader Zim.  But I'll give it a try, if I get the opportunity.

Sorry I was harsh myself, I just got really pissed off. Besides, Kikaider, I believe, was a live action show a looooooooong time ago, and I'm pretty sure it started off as an old manga. Sure the android-human thing's been done before, but Kikaider was one of the first to do it, so you can't dismiss it simply because other people have used the same idea, especially since it was the first, or at least one of the first, to put forth that idea. It's like dismissing Lord of the Rings because you read Harry Potter first (although there's innumerable more problems with that than what I've posed ).

Yaeh. . . perhaps horrible visions of the movie AI still haunt me.  God that movie sucked.  Vomit inducing.  I actually liked the concept, a futuristic take on Pinnochio, but it didn't work.  Horrible.  On my top ten crap movies of all time.

I hope you don't like that movie, or else we'll get in another argument

Bah, you're 209 posts ahead of me, PIAC. I have too much of a life!

And I didn't triple post on purpouse- for some reason the board was thinking my edits were new posts.

PIAC< I have already read most of the posts in this thread, so I will forgo the five hour tasks of trying to open the pages again.  :}

I had the Lion carebear, what was his name, Lionheart?  My brother gave him a hair cut and sheared off his mane.  This was more than 15 years ago too.  But it still makes me sad.

LOL

So, you haven't finished SMS or Pikmin yet?  How far have you gotten?  I actually got all the blue coins and all but 5 shines on SMS but there are a few that are just a serious pain in the butt and I haven't taken the time to finish getting them.  On Pikmin I have actually finished a few times and my best finish time yet is 14 days.  I just wonder what the best times are for others or if anyone cared to lower their number of days.

Edit: Oh yeah, instead of me having to read the whole thread to become an honorary Aussie, couldn't you just consider the Happy Meal toys a bribe to the Aussies and let me pass?

Next post you see from me will have "Honourary Aussie" in my thread.  Guaranteed.

SMS: 3 left I believe, though I don't even own it.  Borrowed it twice for the extensive periods of time.  I'm currently on the second borrowing.  I'll try to get them all, but I think it'll mainly be blue coins.

Huzzah!  PIAC got Grandia!  If you need any help running it on ePSXe or want me to give you the settings I used, you know how to contact me.

Oh yeah, I watched "Gameheadz" on Discovery Channel on Saturday, which I mentioned in my last post.  I think this has already been shown in the US, right "honourary aussie's"?  The best part was about Nintendo, of course (duh!).  I have to admit this part of the documentary made me cry a bit.  It made me remember my childhood, in which I played Nintendo a lot.  Super Mario Bros. was the first game I loved.  I remember playing Zelda with my friend and we once spent a day trying to complete the game together and even rang Nintendo Hotline for help!  They were of no help.  And how could I forget Mario Kart and it's awesome multiplayer game.

Miyamoto spoke to the camera, but mostly in Japanese, and was translated by someone.  He even played his guitar!  It got me excited! He also showed his first designs and ideas for the game Donkey Kong, which was a piece of paper.  Miyamoto, please put it up for auction on eBay.  I sooooo want it! They even showed the lake he discovered, which inspired him to make Zelda.  And they showed bits of the Japanese Zelda commercial from the 80s! OMFG, I had never seen it before.  Does anyone reading this know a website where I can download it?  I beg of you, please!

yay i have grandia! and no, it seems to be running quite fine, despite the intro FMV being without sound, but then Vagrant Story's didn't have sound either so i figure it just doesn't have sound, the rest of the game is great i just had dinner at home after getting the four treasures, and i have to go take something back to the museam, its a pretty cool looking game corny sounding characters, but very charming *gets pot slammed on head* ow!

I got the intro FMV with sound.  When I first played, the speech was not in synch with the text, but I played with the sound settings and got it corrected.

AiAi, I'd like to help you with the Zelda advert. Are you talking about the one where they were all dressed up as Link and the monsters and stuff... And.. Uh, dancing? I had that a while back, but lost it =/

Now I can't find it anywhere. Damn it was freaky!

I vaguely remember the Zelda 2 commercial, back then I don't remember videogame commercials getting a lot of air time.

Wasn't there a topic here, with a link to the original Zelda commercial?  I don't remember if it was the Japanese of North American version.  Not much help am I?

BUt Infernal, nothing is ever lost.  It's just in the last place where it was left.
