And then we all crowdfund Sakurai's one year sabbatical.

Fighters Pass 1 may be complete, but now we have a second pass.

During the Smash presentation, the second fighter's pass for Super Smash Bros Ultimate was announced. It will contain six fighters, with the pass expected to be complete by December 31, 2021.

The pass will be available for purchase on January 28, in time for the last release of pack 1, and will include a Mii costume of the Ancient Armor from The Legend of Zelda; Breath of the Wild as a bonus.

So Nintendo has handled Fighter games basically like any other franchise.  I must say that 2 seasons is basically like getting a brand new Smash Bros game.  Honestly 11 new characters and balance tweaks would be a new fighting game.  This game really makes me wonder if this really is the last Smash Bros Sakuri will make...and if it is, will we just get graphical upgrades later, though honestly it doesn't need it.

I think Sakurai himself that the Smash series takes a lot out of him so it wouldn't surprise me if this was the last one made by him and they just add characters and other things to it to keep it fresh.

He almost refuses to stop working on it though.

Because people keep asking so much from him that he kinda has to continue with working on it.  Very weird feedback loop he is in.

We'll get trophies back and then it will finally be the Ultimate game.

I want a massive break the target dlc mode.   I would pay 9.99 for that.

Yeah! Break the target was a great way to learn the moves of a fighter.

I’m not paying $9.99 for Break The Targets. I will pay and have paid for DLC characters I don’t care about and barely use because nothing makes sense anymore.

That's pretty steep, but if it was Melee style where each fighter got their own stage, then I'd think it was a steal.

Nickmitch:  That is what I was thinking.  I have always played Smash for the Single player experience first and for most.  I loved Melee's Adventure mode, and I am sure I will tackle more of the Spirits adventure mode after finishing the Classic mode with all characters.  But Break the target was a fun special treat.  It made Smash Bros like a puzzle game, a racing game, and a speed run game all at once for the regular gamer.  It would extend the gameplay and replay value of Ultimate even further.

Yeah ideally you would have a different puzzle for each character.  Though that may be too much, so I could see them building types of levels.  Something like one for floating types, one for Fire Emblem Types, etc...
