1) The avatar must be on your own webspace
2) Post link in box labeled External Icon at the bottom of your profile...

Simple...

Nah, tutorials for computers, of course.

You used a GIF for your avatar. GIF is so 80's. PNG is where it's at. Or at least JPEG. GIF should only be used when annoying animation is required.

I meant tutorials on how to draw manga/anime styled characters. But if you can do better by simply spending more time on it...

GIFs are fine when working with something as small as an avatar- you're not going to notice the drop in quality of the finer points. You can also get some cool artifacting if you use something like Paint to make the picture a GIF.

Yeah, I know.

PNG is really nice when you're looking for materials to make an avatar, but once you mash it down to 100x100, you really don't need the extra quality of PNG anymore.

I just saw an opening, and had to attack Bill from an unexpected side. I couldn't resist.

PNG at 8-bit is smaller than GIF at 8-bit. There are rendering erors with PNG alphas and IE, but who cares about compatibility for such obsolete software, anyway?

Here's a neat little find.

I was just browsing around for avatar ideas (you can never have too many great avatars), and found http://www.animegalleries.net/.

They've got a whole bunch of anime pictures. But here's the neat part. They've got a Javascript feature that lets you resize and crop the pictures down to produce avatar-sized pictures (100x100, 64x64, whatever size you want).

You can get better-looking results with a photo editing program, but I guess if you don't want to install anything, and are too shy to ask someone else to crop the pics, then this is for you.
