I think a Metroid movie is a great idea. It depends on a lot of things, whether it will be done right or not. It could turn out really badly: if the makers emphasize the wrong things, like nice fancy camerawork and CGI effects, if they do not pick good actors that take it seriously, if the characters in the movie don't seem like real people, for instance. The movie should be a lot more than just great action scenes. (I am afraid that could happen). It has to have depth, although of course the movie is limited to the story and world from the games. The story and the characters acting it out have to be serious, you have to care about what's happening. But, even tho too much seriousness could probably seem overkill, at the same time you can have enough seriousness without going too far with it, because it IS a game-based story and world afterall. As far as the story itself, who knows - what is mostly important is how it is implimented: the cinematographer, director!, production designer, lighting artist, and of course the screenplay writer are all the most important parts. Sorry if i'm being long winded!
