Let's see. I've decided to use a random word generator to base my words off of so let's see how this goes for me.

New word.

First clue - Mechanized

I thought all your words were supposed to be clues for a final word.  So, like Revolver would be the first clue, then Thermos...

Nope. The clip I linked to shows that it is just about guessing words. You may be thinking of pyramid in which they had different words based around a theme. For instance, the category could be "Things in a Kitchen" and then they would have 7 different words relating to kitchen items and one person would try to describe them and have the other player guess what those words are. But in Pyramid, one player can say and describe as much as they want of any word and the other can guess as much as they want until getting the word in the time limit. In password, it must be one word per clue and one guess per clue and there is no theme but all random words.

If you don't like it, make your own game.

Game Show Network in the States still shows both the $25,000 Pyramid and Super Password (an '80s version of the Password concept) weekday mornings. My brother and I love both of those, and we watched the former growing up on another network. Anyway, on GSN the morning is basically the only time of day they aren't showing six hours of freaking Steve Harvey Family Feud in a row. D:

No, I'm thinking of Password (or, I suppose, Super Password - not sure where the difference started)...

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lz4Qq7poo7w - skip ahead to the 3:50 mark to when they start playing.

Not trying to tell you how to run your game - just thought that was how it worked....

That's how it works for the game shows, but Khush is just doing an abridged version where he just says words without them being related to each other. Though it would be fun to try to come up with an answer/final word for Khush's randomized words! That's a game for another day, though!  :P: :

EDIT: What you're thinking of was how all of the game shows, Password, Password Plus, and Super Password worked.

I'm sure I've stated my views of GSN a few times in the past on this board. But it's been awhile and reposting the same thing over and over hasn't stopped Ian Sane, so why should I hold back?

Basically, from 1997-2002, Game Show Network was at its peak. It was full of classic games and shows. Black and White Password, Password Plus, To Tell the Truth, What's Your Line, Richard Dawson Family Feud, Match Game 72-79, 80's The Price is Right, recent Jeopardy and Wheel of Fortune. It was a plethora of great games shows along with the lesser ones like Joker's Wild, Tattletales, The Newlywed Game, Hollywood Squares.

However, then they began to start making their own game shows and acquiring more recent stuff like the Regis editions of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire?, New Family Feud, 1 vs 100, Are You Smarter Than a Fifth Grader, Deal or No Deal, etc. They let the real, classic and good game shows go to the wayside. I know it's a money thing as it is probably cheaper to air those than the classic stuff (which blows my mind) but the quality sucks compared to them. The only original program I ever like of theirs was Lingo. That one actually got it right.

Once in awhile, they would even slip in an episode of The Gong Show which I thought was amazing. It was my type of humour. Alas, the channel soon slid into mediocrity about the time they stopped airing The Price is Right and Lingo came on. But for awhile, Game Show Network was all I needed. I'd come home from school and just watch it straight or record shows during the day and watch them later. I was a Game Show Junkie.

Oh yeah. It started with Password Plus I think when they revived the show. Unless later episodes of Password did that. In the clip I linked, you will see that it is always random. There is no final word. What can I say? I always preferred the black and white original with Allen Ludden as host. I'm a Password purist. Plus, I never cared for Bert Convy as a host. That clip you link is a perfect example of how the show goes to hell around the 6:00 minute mark under his watch.

That is why I called the thread Password as well. I'm going with the original simple version. We could go to Password Plus or Super Password if enough people want to play and form up teams. For funhouse simplicity, I just thought this would be sufficient.

Almost. According to the Password Home Version rules: "If a FORM of the Password is given as a RESPONSE, the responding player is given ONE CHANCE to correct the word to the exact Password."

Consider the clues again and take another shot at the answer, Pokepal.
