Topic: HELP!!!!! SERIOUS PROBLEM

I got my GameCube like 5 months ago. i got Mario sunshine and ssx tricky and they worked fine i then got mario party 4 and that also worked fine. then i got lord of the rings: the two towers. when i put the game in it would display the gamecube sign and then say loading but half way through a message would display ." Game disc cannot be read. please read Nintendo Gamecube instruction booklet for further intructions" it kept on doing this. it sometimes works and it sometimes doesn't but then i got Enter the matrix. the exact same thing happened i can't play that at all!!! SOMEBODY PLEASE HELP ME!!!!!

You're still covered for another 7 months.  Call Nintendo and make the proper arrangements.  You should have your Gamecube back in working order within the month.

Thanks. i'll try that. but someone having another conversation said that i should rub that laser with a wet q-tip and then quickly dry it?? i might try that.

I wouldn't screw with the laser at all, unless you know what you're doing.

Don't screw with anything, and don't listen to anything anybody tells you on a forum except "ask Nintendo". Do you think the guy who told you to rub your laser actually did the same thing to his GCN?

my friends gcn wasnt workign well for a logn tiem and wuldnt load ames liek eternal darkness..then someone told him to get a high powered air blower thingy..and what do you know he had dust underneath his lazer lense(you spray through the vents and over the top)....works perfectly now... WTF i tell it to edit posts and it double posts..wtf!..and then somehow it deletes itself..i found them agic way to eleminate double posts...there is no spoon!

One of my friends had a problem with its GC, he called nintendo and that same day a ups guy came for it. He waited for a couple of weeks and it returned and to this day it still works fine. So i suggest that you call nintendo because they are very profesional about this.

After many hours of serious Game cubing sum times the disc decides it just doesn't wanna read any more. I was in the middle of the 15 minute melee on SSB melee (guess how long I was playin that for : like a whole 15 minutes !) anyway - right at the end it stops and says "GAME DISC CANNOT BE READ BLAH BLAH BLAH" Then after my repetitive swearing I took the game disc out and you wouldn't beleive it - THERE WAS CAT HAIR AND HUMAN HAIR AND DOG HAIR AND EVERY OTHER KIND OF HAIR EVERYWHERE!!!!! I wiped it all of and had to start my huge 15 minute melee again.

(I eventually won and got the fighting wire frames trophy ... joy !)

It may be the games?? i can play mario party fine and ssx tricky fine but enter the matrix and lord of the rings i can't play at all. it's not cos their scratched or dirty cos they didn't work even when i got them brand new.? i can't call nintendo cos i live in england but i've emailed them but i havn't had a reply!

I have a special can of compressed air that is made specifically to dust off computer parts/innards. I wonder if that would fix a problem like this, I'll try it if I ever have that problem. I have a cat in my house so cat hair could become a problem soon. The compressed air is called "Dust Off" and I've started to use it on some old NES games instead of blowing in there myself because of the risk of damage from saliva (so said the nintendo rep). Forget where you can get it. Probably Office Depot or any other office/tech store carries a similar product. Good luck to anyone who wishes to try it.

Course...you could always buy the official cleaning kit...they do still make them like they did for their old cartrige systems right?

Yeah, that's what I used to clean my system.  After that, it worked like a charm.  That Dust-Off thing is great.
