TellTale Games confirmed through their official blog that the first episode of Tales of Monkey Island, titled “Launch of the Screaming Narwhal”, will hit the WiiWare service on July 27 at 1,000 Nintendo Points ($10).

No date has been set for the European release, but TellTale Games promises to have information very soon

So, it looks like the complete WiiWare version will be $50, while the PC set is only $35. I don't see why anyone would want to get this on Wii except to try a single episode (and there's probably a demo on PC anyway).

I assume the Wii version has a rather substantial audience of people who have no idea that there's a PC version. It seemed to work out well for the Strong Bad games.

Also, this game does seem to be particularly well-suited for the Wii controls, since you have direct control of Guybrush's movement with the nunchuck, and you interact with objects and people by pointing and clicking with the remote.

:)

I'm using my Pepsi Rockband points to get this! Maybe I'll get the last couple Strong Bad episodes while I'm at it as well.

THIS.  One hundred times over, this.  You'll be able to get the entire series for about $12.50.

I currently have 9,900 points on my account and that's after going on a spending rampage of over 6,000 points.

See this thread.

Basically, you can exchange codes on the bottom of Pepsi caps for 200 Wii points.  You can buy these codes in mass quantities on eBay for around $0.50 per code.

Here I thought that was just some Unclebob Multi-Level-Walmart marketing pyramid scheme. I guess I should have clicked on that thread a long time ago.

All the codes I'm getting from co-workers and customers who leave their bottles in the store are being used to pay for Monkey Island and My Life as a Darklord :)

There really is little incentive to get Monkey Island on Wiiware.  I preordered the PC version because I didn't want to wait for the first episode and the pre-order bonus seemed pretty cool.  It's too bad that people who want to play it on the Wii are getting stiffed here.

That being said, the game is pretty funny.  I'm a Monkey Island fan and I loved it.

It's also a shame that the Secret of Monkey Island: Special Edition isn't on WiiWare as well.
