OS: Windows Vista, XP or 2000

CPU: 3.0 GHz P4, Dual Core 2.0 or AMD64X2 (or higher)

Now my question is there any way my system can play it?  I can play Team Fortress 2 at the highest settings without any noticeable slow down.  My PC is a Pentium 4 3GHz with HyperThreading 2GB RAM, running on a XP system.  Oh and my Video Card is a Geforce 6800 256MB.

I don't know much about HyperThreading so that is basically my conern.  All i know is that it is like a dual core fake.

I originally bought my computer like 3-4 years ago i think when i needed it for school.  Sadly I bought Unreal Tournament 3  for it's editor but my PC can barely play it, unless the settings are toned down.

I think if you can run Source engine games just fine, you'll be all set. I guess they haven't put out a demo yet?

But yeah, it's the source engine, so if you really run TF2 at max, you should be aces (although I'm a little skeptical that you do!). Apparently there's some improvements in the engine for multicore support so if you can fake it, hey.

IMO buy a 512 mb card if you want to buy another component. The 8800s have been out for quite a while and I'd imagine they're cheaper now.

I only have a 2.8 GHz P4 and my video card is only 128 MB.  I may have to sit this game out.

Here is an 8800GT for $110 - 512MB 256-bit GDDR3...not too shabby. Free shipping too. On the other hand...an XBox 360 is $200 (more with an HDD of course, but you don't *need* one), and the 360 version does everything that the PC version does (online, split screen...online and split screen at the same time), and Valve is running dedicated servers on XBL for the 360 version.

Actually your right i thought i had the settings all the way up but i don't.  I checked and I was running it at 1768 x 992 with everything at it's highest settings except the anti-aliasing was at 4x and the texture detail was at high instead of 16x and very high.  I lowered the resolution and kept everything else about the same and it runs a little better now so disregard my statement about running at full settings.  I can however run Half-Life 2 at full settings.....thats like how old?

Oh and Brandogg, I do have a 360 but like I said I prefer certain things on PC.  Usually FPS and any game I know I'm gonna play years later.  Every 360 is gonna RROD sooner or later and it is not guaranteed that the next microsoft system is going to be compatible with 360 games.

Not *every* system will get the RROD, though several million (ouch) of them have. My Arcade system has been running since December without any freezing or the 3 red lights...that's got to be some kind of record.

If I can get off-topic for a sec, even if you're a weirdo who doesn't care if they use a mouse or controller, the PC ver of TF2 has a huge advantage over the console ones in that they get the expansion material first, and free. 360 version costs money and isn't coming until later. Who knows if the PS3 ver will get it at all!

People have been saying that for years and it's no truer now than it was years ago. Great games are still frequently being made for the PC, even if consoles get dumbeddown ports of a lot of them nowadays.
