I have absolutely no idea what I'm talking about, but could you work out a deal with an online retailer (Amazon, FamilyVideo, etc.) to include links to their products in your reviews/previews and have them pay you a small commission based on sales generated from the links?

I know you used to include links to Lik-Sang in your import coverage.  I don't know if you made any money off resulting sales, or if you just got free import games to cover for the site.

I purchased ad space here once back when they were still PGC, but it was a little pricey to be honest. I have contemplated advertising here again because it did work out pretty good for what I wanted the last time. But I do not think Johnny wants to deal with me again...


Maybe you could do something like Game Spot does, offer premium content for a small subscription fee or something like that? This site really does offer a lot more premium type content than the other gaming sites do for free so maybe not charge for the entire site but charge for the specials or something. I don't know just ignore me.

We're working on this for NWR 2.0.

I'd just like to say for the record that I buy most of my games through Amazon, and if you had a partner link, I'd make extensive use of it.

Now the ads are reading my internet cookies to see where I live.

Maybe if they're replaced with more and more annoying ads, intrude more and more into my privacy, I'll be more likely to click on them!

Again, I will say that the new NWR (and the concurrent forums tweak) will make things better for everyone.  Please stick with us!

Also, I want to say that I just came up with a brilliant, ads-related idea that everyone here will get a kick out of.  This idea of mine is so brilliant that you'll wonder why we didn't do it before!  I'm not going to say what it is until I work it out with Ty, but needless to say I think you'll love it!!!

I have seen this one too, and we are registering a formal complaint with our ad networks.  It's much, much worse than the True ads.
