I love it when S_B starts flailing about, blurting out incomprehensible words every which way. I also equally love it when pap comes in if only to give S_B a pat on the shoulder and doesn't actually add anything useful to the argument.

Did no one read my explanation? Doesn't it seem logical? Doesn't it make sense? If we all just pretend that what I said was true, then there's nothing to argue about.

ESRB ratings only matter when Take2 is involved.

Heh, sad but likely true.

Suck it up. You're a Nintendo fan. Nintendo gives us fun things like stickers.

Stickers are boring, bland and uninteresting. It has nothing to do with age.

I just think there are so many better ideas they could be implementing, like adding customization to characters, even if it is only visually. I'm sure both hardcore and new players alike would love it if they could decorate a character to their liking, be it with color scheme or just decals, like changing the emblem on Link's shield to one you designed.

Sorry if I'm taking an idea from Animal Crossing here, but if we're going to get little fluff additions, they could at least be additions which actually have something to do with the game itself.

And I love it that you need to wait until the entire thread has shown hostility toward me to summon enough courage to scurry out of your hole and "join" the crusade.

You make perfect sense. I truly hope that this was only done because there was time to kill in the schedule.

The funny thing? Back when Melee was released and S_B was ranting about it I hated his guts because my anticipation for the game was so high that anything negative about it bugged me to no end.

But enough about that. What I find so funny about this argument is that everyone's telling everyone to chill out about the sticker option when they took his comments about it a little too personally.

I do agree that this comments are harsh, especially since this is going to be a throw away feature that everyone will forget once the real SSB fin begins. But at the same time everyone's taking this way to heart. Its a silly feature perhaps not even worth fighting about. Some will like it, others won't. Yet the minute someone spoke negatively about it its like that person insulted someone very close to their family.

This isn't the first time someone has gotten crap over speaking negatively about Brawl. If you remember everyone gave Golden a hard time over the single player mode simply because she said that we don't know how its going to turn out and even I was attacked when I started to suspect that the extended one player could be a way to excuse the lack of online features (since nothing was said about at the moment).

People, we are all highly anticipating Brawl but its not worth giving each other crap about. S_B isn't the only one that needs to lighten up around here...

To be fair, there's absolutely nothing wrong with the very first thing that S_B posted, which set off this entire argument.

With all of the extras being added, the core gameplay had better already be polished and balanced to the nth degree.

It's true. And if the gameplay isn't top-notch, they won't have any excuse whatsoever- whether it be something serious like budget or schedule constraints or silly like the stickers.

I know it wouldn't be the stickers.

I'm just saying that, if the game DID come out and had issues like that, I think we'll all be saying, "What the hell? You guys had time for crap like stickers but not balance?"

I ain't that worried. I'm sorry if I sounded like an alarmist earlier, but I maintain that this is something that belongs in Mario Paint and not SSBB.

I don't think clones are a result of too little time but too few ideas. When SSBM was released Luigi was just Mario with minor changes in all the games so why should he suddently have a completely different moveset? Pichu is a closely related species to Pikachu AFAIK so again a different playstyle would be strange. Young Link IS Link. Roy and Marth are both regular swordfighters, there's only so much you can do with that in a game like SSBM. Ganondorf being the same as Capt Falcon is a bit strange but then again Ganondorf isn't really defined in the games to a degree that could dictate a playstyle (same thing for Captain Falcon).

Also, you know what SSBB needs? The ability to win a trophy for real, if you win a certain type of tournament you get a trophy of your choice made in real life (3d printer) and shipped to you, the people who don't win get a number of their stickers printed out. That would be some incentive.

I agree with KDR. Some clones were almost natural (Dr. Mario, etc). Which is why I feel that alts are the best solution to the clones issue. Luigi has been somewhat differentiated from Mario, at least enough to make him a fairly unique character. The rest of the clones, on the other hand, should be fixed. If there is to be another FE character, he/she should play nothing like Ike or at least be a lightweight with mostly altered moves. We're not getting a rushed game this time around. Clones should be eliminated. I just wonder what they'll do with Ganondorf.

I mean like the ones you could use in F-Zero GX and apply them to your car, except that you could edit them yourself and apply them to your characters as you chose.

Yes, I acknowledge that it might present the opportunity for obscenity, but so didn't Animal Crossing and Mario Kart and both of those went online.

I believe one has to be in denial to suggest that the clones were anything but lazy. Just because a character has similar traits doesn't mean they have to have exactly the same movesets. Heck with Luigi he recently had his own game, which could have been utilized to provide him with a different moveset (Maybe with the vacuum cleaner?). Young Link could have had a different moveset, maybe one that emphasized his youth. Roy and Marth, didn't have to be exactly the same they could have been given different sword fighting techniques and special moves. Pichu, I don't know because I don't follow Pokemon. And Ganondorf is the worse offender because his moveset could have been based off 3 different games (Including the stuff his Ganon form did). When you have one of the most feared dark wizards in Hyrule copy a race car driver you have problems.

Actually, people volunteering their time happens a lot in software development, especially when the person has a deep passion for whatever they are developing.

Wouldn't be that surprised with a project like this anyway, since it's well known that the team were "Melee nuts" prior to working on the game.

...I would still like to know who the team is also. The made a big deal about that at the start, but emphasis on it has been more or less dropped now.

That, and he swung that awesome sword around in his winning animation.

Ganondorf was, by far, the worst offender. He went from being an evil wizard to an evil ninja.

I hope to god he has his moveset from one of the recent Zelda games in Brawl.

Also Ganondorf was still established, even if you had to use some of his magical attacks from LTTP and LoZ. Falcon on the otherhand they could do anything with because all we knew about him is that he drives a fast futuristic race car!

I loved Ganondorf's playstyle in Melee, though. The "bulky" Captain Falcon just really worked for me. I hope someone else carries the torch, like Deathborn... although I find the chance of that happening pretty much non-existent.

The odd thing is that the Smash Bros interpretation of the character became canon in the end... I mean, he uses his "Falcon Punch" in the Anime:

It's almost 3:10 AM here. The update is late.

EDIT: Never mind. It's up.

Tethering (aka grappling hooks and the like) with Samus' whip is possible.

"And it’s not exclusive to Zero Suit Samus... Other characters can do it, too!"

Scorpion from Mortal Kombat, confirmed.

I also liked Ganondorf's playstyle, more so then I liked Captain Falcon's.

Although I hated the fact that they used Ganondorf to be Falcon's clone, when it should have been someone like Black Shadow, Deathborn (EDIT: I am an idiot, Deathborn was not even around at the time that Melee was being developed), or even Mach Rider.
