Jumpman Jr. is a game by Epyx that my brother and I played a lot of on the ColecoVision.
As you can guess by the name, it sounds like a pseudo-sequel to Donkey Kong (as Mario was known as Jumpman there) but it's not really. Jumpman Jr. is a stickman who collects orange "bombs" (due to limitations they look like orange plus symbols without the center piece) on girder-like platforms, while avoiding bullet-like single white pixels that shoot across the screen. Every stage had its own gimmick...I remember moving ladders that changed direction with each bomb collected, fires, dynamic stages (again changing with bombs collected), and a hurricane in the last stage. It was all really well done, or at least I thought so at the time.
I'd like to see a remake of Jumpman Jr., but I'd rather see the ColecoVision added to the Vitual Console.
I remember the confusion of people saying C64 and MSX games would be on the VC. It's probably been mentioned but if marketed well, they might do better than remakes that take up a whole Wii disc. They need more actual "marketing" of particular VC games anyway, honestly. Rumour-mongering the very same Monday morning doesn't count as marketing. Maybe like a flyer of a whole month's release schedule in a game store.
