For those that did not catch this week's GameTrailers Invisible Walls podcast, in a surprising move the host revealed the official NPD Single SKU numbers for November 2010 (something that I'm sure is going to delight NPD since they're going to such lengths to hide these numbers):
Software:
1. Call of Duty Black Ops (360) - 4, 914, 757 units
2. Call of Duty Black Ops (PS3) - 3, 093, 879 units
3. Just Dance 2 (Wii) - 663, 978 units
4. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (360) - 718, 179 units
5. Fable III (360) - 551, 127 units
6. Donkey Kong Country Returns (Wii) - 430, 470 units
7. Assassin's Creed: Brotherhood (PS3) - 425,293 units
8. Gran Turismo 5 (PS3) - 399, 257 units
9. Halo: Reach (360) - 354, 751 units
10. Wii Fit + w/ Balance Board (Wii) - 353, 085 units
No, the folks at GameTrailers had no idea either why Just Dance 2 was slotted in at the 3rd Best Selling game of the month when it sold less than the "4th" Best Selling Game Assassin's Creed Brotherhood on 360.
Now for the really interesting numbers on Hardware:
GameBoy Advance - 10 units
GameCube - 4 units
Nintendo DS - 1, 508, 176 units
Playstation 2 - 80, 513 units
Playstation 3 - 530, 117 units
Playstation Portable - 288, 587 units
Wii - 1, 270, 192 units
Xbox - 0 units
Xbox 360 - 1, 373, 646 units
Yeah, we knew some of those numbers already, but not numbers this exact. Interesting to see both GBA and GameCube still selling...something, while the PS2 is still selling remarkably for its age and the original Xbox is just dead in the water.
Some other fun sales tidbits:
- Goldeneye (Wii) was #62 on the list of Best Selling games for November. As #41 was the first game on the list to sell less than 100,000 copies, we know Goldeneye sold less than that in its opening sales month. Yet another decent Wii 3rd party title that failed to sell? I certainly hope not.
- Metroid Other M is at supposedly around 300,000 copies sold in North America since launch.
