I lost my connection several times but I saw the controller tilting; the remote and nunchuck put it to shame.

I wonder how they are doing this without breaking someone's patents.

suprise suprise sony copies nintendo once again, who didnt expect that to happen, oh and again they claim it as there own inovation. They also had the nerve to throw a few shots at nintendo, first they said we dont change the controller everyone else has come to love and they say its extreamly exciting as if they came up with it.

HAHA!!! 500$ for the basse system what a rip off.

For all the times I get pissed at Nintendo for withholding secrets, it STILL gets copied.

F*ck u Sony.  F*ck you.

I can't believe they're using the same god-awful dual shock controller design.  I can't beleive they tried to steal Nintendo's controller (and failed so horrendously).

Dear God. I can't believe they did it. I never really thought they'd try and copy Nintendo so obviously. But to do it so badly, and try to pass it off as an advance in gaming...

So, with Sony in deep debt and the current prospects of the PS3, anyone else think their digging their own grave?

You know, I don't care that Sony went gyroscopic. Really, it only proves once again that Nintendo knows what they're doing. Always have, always will. And that everyone else is just scrambling to catch up with them.

But what makes me angry is how the mood is going to shift everywhere to how this is going to be the next great gaming avenue even after spending MONTHS bashing Nintendo for bringing it to us first.

Nintendo is never going to win.

Ever.

Period.

All I can hope for is that they keep on chugging along making the great games that I love. Everyone else just be damned.

I love the internets. Watching this live with complimentary commenting on IRC, then to hit up all the forums and witness the aftermath, it's just too entertaining to me. Tomorrow has even more explosive potential....

Anyway, almost none of the Sony games caught my interest. Total cop out going back to the old stale dual shock pad (CURSE YOU D-PAD). Throwing in motion sensors was pretty much a given (and even took a dig at Ninty with their 'no external setup' comment). Outrageous price, once again a given. Just FINALLY glad to have it all set in concrete. Looking forward to the floor impressions now, since I really hope the media can play better than those guys on stage....
Oops pow suprise!

Gamespot says that the Europe / Aus launch will also be November 17th. For 599 Euros. What a joke. That comes to close to a grand in A$, regardless of the fact that the A$ is approximately worth 75 US cents.

I hope Nintendo doesn't screw us PAL Gamers so hard.

You're on. Get some specs that are comparable to PS3 for under $600. Go!

Typical knee jerk (wii-jerk?) reactions these days. Let's see what else Sony does with this limited motion sensing.

Yeah it was a cheap shot; let's see if Nintendo can counter.

First off, I know we all joke about Sony stealing others ideas... but I'm still floored that they had the balls to do this. I hope some media person out there grills them for this, like they deserve.

Second off, Microsoft is now screwed being the only one without the tech.

This was my response to the talkback thread but it blew up so I'll post it here.

Well this isn't too surprising.  Sounds pretty inferior to the remote.  Still implementation is what matters.  Sony's "motion control" seems like a dud but that doesn't automatically assure "victory" for Nintendo.  They still have to show some big games to prove that the Wii concept will result in better games.  Guess we'll find that out tomorrow.

Man that sounded good to say "tomorrow".

It still seems weird that Nintendo was so concerned about having their idea stolen but then revealed their idea so far ahead of time that it DID get stolen.
