Sony E3 2006 Press Conference
« on: May 08, 2006, 02:41:42 PM »
[L+Sony's E3 2006 Press Conference Video]http://www.gamespot.com/downloads/6149525[/L]

Was supposed to start at 4pm pst. Gamespot says it has been delayed.
Anyone know what happened? Did Sony really have nothing to show? or maybe they are a little afraid of what Nintendo has to show and would rather Nintendo show their hand 1st?

Sony is officially a bitch.

This Sony press conference is damn good.  Nintendo is probably collectivily wii-ing themselves right now.

Sony is showing their marketing strategy... no matter how long they take and how crappy it is, people will wait and wait and wait for Sony to sling their crap on 'em

Why don't we take this into the pgc chat?  It's so lonely in there with only Bob and me.
Why must all things be so bright? Why can things not appear only in hues of brown! I am so serious about this! Dull colors are the future! The next generation! I will never accept a world with such bright colors! It is far too childish! I will rage against your cheery palette with my last breath!

Apparently Sony doesn't consider the DS as a competitor to the PS2.

As I said in PlanetChat:  It's pretty, but dull.  There aren't really any interactive environments to speak of.  It's just a boring, static, high def backdrop surrounding a circle that you drive around in.  Nothing revolutionary to speak of.

They showed an augmented reality card game using the eye toy for PS3.  It was cool, and different from Revolution; it looks like they are still going to be using a regular game pad.  I can't tell from the angles they've shown so far.

I'm interested to see what else the camera can be used for.

They just finished pushing microtransactions.

And now they are having camera control issues in there Japanese hacknslash game.  Haha.  Earlier their speaker was all about PSP emulating a PSX game and how it brought back memories and then he couldn't control the game for ass.

I wonder if Sony is so lost in their own little world that they truly don't realize people without a 1080p TV are not going to get half the "information" or "data" they're system is generating.  I'm beginning to think HD is conspiracy created by people who need to get glasses.

So... who's psyched for online karaoke?

The sad thing is, this crap could actually be what brings non-gamers in.

Seriously?  I thought it looked really bland.  If any Sony fanboy ever tells me the Wiimote is a gimmick, I'm going to punch him in the fact and show that game down this throat.
