Their announcement is so revolutionary they don't want future customers to hear about any announcement of an announcement.

I don't think Matt understands that when Nintendo say "very soon" they mean "in the next year". He goofed.

No Revolution details this year, sorry.  Come back when things are more appropriate, like Nintendo Power issue June 2008.

Heh, I see I missed a lot today.  Well I'm in Seattle now, still hoping something shows up at PAX.  I only have intertron in my hotel lobby so I won't be on as much as I had hoped, but I will still try and check in at least once a day =P.

I went to the mall today... no sign of Reggie =P

I'm not betting on anything being revealed until next E3. I know, Nintendo have said that they will release the info THIS year but just in case you have been in a cave on Mars with your eyes closed and your fingers in your ears...NINTENDO LIE A LOT!

Spong says (yes, I know, Spong) that Iwata will unveil the controller, and how it works,  Mario 128 and other titles at TGS in his keynote address.  They seem pretty sure about it, actually bragging about their predictions of previous Iwata keynotes.

There's also a story that Square will most likely support DS and the REV with Play on(Square's online service).  I guess not a huge surprise.

The Omen already mentiones it so I won't bother repeating it, I'll just provide the link and a quote....

Revolution revealed in detail @ TGS
Quote

You’ll be pleased to know that a full explanation of Revolution will be made by Nintendo president Satoru Iwata during his Tokyo Game Show keynote address. This news represents completely finalised Nintendo plans – Iwata will fully outline The Secret on 16th September 2005.

Nintendo is assembling key media to attend this year’s show, due to take place between 16th – 18th September 2005. Iwata will make his presentation of current activities at Nintendo. He will outline current projects and will then - unveil the Revolution in all its glory.

The Revolution presentation will include an explicit outline of the hardware and its controller and input mechanic, as well as illustrate exactly how it will work. It will go on to show games running on the system and how they make use of the technology.

Mario 128, or ‘New Mario’ as it is dubbed internally at Nintendo, is expected to be the star of the show.

Well I just reported the rumor at N-R. So what do you guys think about it? I know Spong isn't exactly the wise man of the mountain but hey, the TGS would be the perfect time.

Spong doesn't know anything, it's just an easy guess that Nintendo might reveal something at TGS, and if they get it right they gain some empty credibility.

Rancid Planet what exactly has Nintendo lied about in the past?  Because I'm pretty sure that even if Nintendo has lied then Microsoft and Sony have lied plenty too.  Oh and I wouldn't be surprised if the Revolution is unveiled at the TGS after all Nintendo did say they were going to release more info before the end of the year and they're running out of oppurtunites.

its nothing too interesting, but I though I would just post it anyways.

So word has it the the TGS is where the Revolution will be revealed once-and-for-all.
Here is a quick recap of some points up to now:

E3 2005:  Nintendo promises more Revolution news by years end.  (they are running out of opportunites)

Quotes From Matt off of IGNCUBE Mailbag

-August 15th:  "Shortly after the Leipzig Games Convention...could be a day or a week, but I don't expect it will be much longer."

-August 16th:  "I wouldn't call it a guess" (responding to question, "How educated of a guess is this?")

-August 23rd:  "I can tell you with confidence that in a worst-case scenario, something is going to be announced by the time Tokyo Game Show rolls around in mid-September"

Quote from Bernd Fakesch, spokesman and General Manager of Nintendo of Europe (@ Nintendo's GC 2005 press conference in Germany)

-August 17th:  "The only thing I can tell you is that very soon there will be important news about Revolution."

From Spong news report

-August 26th:

   - full explanation of Rev made by Satoru Iwata during TGS keynote address on Sep. 16th
   - full outline of hardware and controller
   - show games running on the machine

This blogger after speaking to the writer of the article believes this news is reliable.  Saying, " this information is undoubtedly accurate...he is a reliable journalist with excellent contacts in the industry"

Additionally, Gamespot's recent "Rumor Report" covered Spongs story and concluded, " We'll see next month, but sources close to Nintendo say a next-gen Mario demo is a strong probability."

From the Blog BlackNMild2k1 posted above someone claiming to be an artist for a gaming company in Japan has posted on his site some works he says is his "fun arts" that blatantly relate to Nintendo.

-August 27th:  Here are two images pointing to the 9/15 news release date:

Picture 1

Has 51 / 9 (or 9/15 backwords)

Picture 2

Has a blatant 9/15 05

-September 13th:  This special day marks Mario's 20th anniversery since his release on the NES in Japan on September 13th, 1985. (Linky)

(thx for the heads-up from  M@jorM@xiM on todays PGC Mailbag)

I know that none of the above sources cannot be trusted 100% but would this not be enough combined to make this thing all but certain to go down at the TGS?  This is their chance to steal the show and spotlight.  They are reaching that breaking point where it could really hurt them to keep their big announcement from us any longer (especially the closer we get to the Xbox360 launch).  They certainly have the anticipation...now they just NEED to come through.

As expected by most... there was absolutely no Rev talk at PAX.  The Nintendo booth was cool but had absolutely nothing that we didn't already know.

Ah, now I understand their comic strip from today. Geez, they could've at least said it clearly in their news-post. Oh well I guess Nintendo lost one good chance to reveal some more info on the Rev.

One good chance?  I didn't even know PAX had happened yet, nevermind that it already ended.  PAX would have been a stupid time to reveal everything.  Although, I guess it doesn't matter where they reveal it, since it'll spread through the interweb like wildfire.  Stil, though, PAX?  No one really expected anything.

Well I didn't say it was the best place to reveal something new, but however if you take into account how many people read their comic-strips then you will see that it would be good free publicity. I wonder if planetgamecube's traffic ever reached a number close to pennyarcade's?!
