Here is a quick recap of some points up to now:

August 15th: "Shortly after the Leipzig Games Convention...could be a day or a week, but I don't expect it will be much longer."
-
August 16th: "I wouldn't call it a guess" (responding to question, "How educated of a guess is this?")
-
August 23rd: "I can tell you with confidence that in a worst-case scenario, something is going to be announced by the time Tokyo Game Show rolls around in mid-September"
Quote from Bernd Fakesch, spokesman and General Manager of Nintendo of Europe (@ Nintendo's GC 2005 press conference in Germany)-

This blogger after speaking to the writer of the article believes this news is reliable. Saying, " this information is undoubtedly accurate...he is a reliable journalist with excellent contacts in the industry"
Additionally,
Gamespot's recent "Rumor Report" covered Spongs story and concluded, " We'll see next month, but sources close to Nintendo say a next-gen Mario demo is a strong probability."
From the Blog BlackNMild2k1 posted above someone claiming to be an artist for a gaming company in Japan has posted on his site some works he says is his "fun arts" that blatantly relate to Nintendo.-
August 27th: Here are two images pointing to the 9/15 news release date:
Picture 1Has 51 / 9 (or 9/15 backwords)
Picture 2Has a blatant 9/15 05
-
September 13th: This special day marks Mario's 20th anniversery since his release on the NES in Japan on September 13th, 1985.

I know that none of the above sources cannot be trusted 100% but would this not be enough combined to make this thing all but certain to go down at the TGS? This is their chance to steal the show and spotlight. They are reaching that breaking point where it could really hurt them to keep their big announcement from us any longer (especially the closer we get to the Xbox360 launch). They certainly have the anticipation...now they just NEED to come through.
