Guys do you realize how silly this is.

We are literally grasping at straws, just because we weren't pleased with the Nintendo conference, even though every rational source told us not to expect much.  I was one of the guys caught up in the hype.  I expect BIG, BIG things, and I was let down...but only because I expected big things.

If you actually look at the CONTENT of the Nintendo Conference, and not the flash then you see it was a pretty good show.

1)Nintendo confirms strong support for the DS for another year, with huge online plans.  Very important for the DS to thrive.

2)It announces a new way to play your GBA games.  It is a cooler way to play, and actually if the price is right (and it should be dirt cheap) an amazing bargain.

3)Nintendo announced the Revolution with just enough information to tease you about the future.  What is not to like about the big announcement of UBER Backwards compatability.  And finally being able to play your favorite games on a new system LEGALLY.

4)Nintendo showed that despite the dropping of support from 3rd party developers that the Gamecube still has several good games coming out this year.  Games that you will want to own.

Yes, Microsoft showed the Xbox 360, they had too.  Yes, Sony showed the PS3 just to combat Xbox, in a way they had too.  Nintendo didn't show anything, and left there system a mystery.  People are saying this is a big mistake, and it may be...but Nintendo really didn't have to show anything this year...and I personally am glad that Nintendo focused on showing we still have one strong year with the Gamecube left.

Now, if we will just let go of our disappointment now, and stop speculating we won't have to be disappointed tommorrow.

I agree with SPak completely, the only reason I'm allowing a glimmer of hope in my heart is this Aeris post that raises my eyebrows:

“Another thing I forgot to mention was on the backward compatibility;
apparently the Nintendo’s new console will be able to play the games
from past consoles such as GC, N64, SNES, and yes NES. I believe this
feature shall intrigue many people out there and could possibly lead to
what I call “New Classics” so look forward to that. For now I have to
seriously catch some shut eye E3 will be here soon enough.”

Who knows?

Oh, there's quite a few reasons to allow a glimmer of hope.

Too many, is the problem. I'm not holding my breath for tomorrow.

Wow! This is on almost every Nintendo forum on the entire internet. I'm done with it until tomarrow. I will take my leave of you my friends. I'm off to see StarWars(almost forgot it was in a few hours) and play my Ds with 70 other people. I'm sure this topic will come up. We will see.

This is interesting, andVERY exciting.

Even if Nintendo shows us nothing on Thursday, this is hype and publicity.  After the lack of Rev at the conference, people aren't going to be dissappointed any more.  If there's nothing, people will say "Oh it was just a hunch," but if it DOES happen then it's going to be HUGE.

Geez, we get SK conspiracies (that are STILL going on), and now we get Rev conspiracies.  It's awesome.

Some more info for everyone taken from other forums

http://webpages.charter.net/danrarbc64/liz.wmv
One of the videos that were shown at nintendo.com
Quote from it "And then on Thursday we have the Agency coming in to give the presentation"

Gamespot tomorrow has something scheduled at 12 pacific time called "A Man Named Reggie"

A new post from Aries (supposedly) at the gamespot forums
"I hear everyone is talking about www.nintendoon.com. All that I can say for now is that there is truth to it. I can't say much more or somethings might be ruined. I will be heading to e3 in half an hour and remember tomorrow is going to be a crazy day I assure you. Tomorrow will prove that I am real and then I can let you guys know who I am. "

My resonce to Reggie making a strong statement for us to think with the ride side of our brain during the conference.

I find Reggie's mention of thinking with the right brain interesting though. I just recently been reading a book called "drawing on the right side of the brain" and it gets into some detail on the differences between the left and right side of our brains. One key quote from the book that I'll like to share is as follows.....

"The right hemisphere is not good at sequencing- doing the first thing first, taking the next step, then the next. It may start anywhere, or take everything at once. Furthermore, the right hemisphere hasn't a good sense of time and doesn't seem to comprehend what is meant by the term "wasting time," as does the good, sensible left hemisphere. The right brains is not good at categorizing and naming, It seems to regard the thing as-it-is, at the present moment of the present; seeing things for what they simpley are, in all of their awesomene, fascinating complexity. "

This makes sence in the way that if we think with our left side of the brain then we won't understand Nintendo's approach. Our left side would think in the way we have always seen E3. The pre E3 show where everything is layed out and then the 3 E3 days to play games. In using our right side, as Reggie says, we should'nt see E3 in such an order, anything can happen at any time. If they want to have a showing on the last day then they can. I'm sure you can derive more from that quote in relation to all this besides the aspect of time but thats the only point I wanted to put across.

My take on this whole conspiracy...

I've been putting further thought into this and a late showing does make sence. If you think about it, it has its benefits and there is no law to E3 that says you can't have any conf on the last day. I know there have been rumors at past E3 of late info and whatnot but this time we have more to go by. Look at Nintendo's conference, all in all, it was exactly what we didn't want to see and what Nintendo said they wouldn't do. Perrin went and said the Rev was 2-3 times more powerfull as the Gcube, easilly a bad move in her part. Remeber though, she is in charge of PR, they always know what they are doing, everything they say is planned out. Could her saying this have been to set the stage for a lackluster pre E3 conf? They showcased games we already knew about and unloaded on us with not 1, not 2, but 4 mario spinoffs. They also went about and showed as little as possible of Rev (which they already allowed USA today to show us way before the show) and then pulled out Zelda at the last minute similar to last year. This could all have been done to dull our sences, to have the media, in a way, forget and write off Nintendo. It could clearly be seen as a setup to completely do a 360 and WOW us in the end. This could easilly be a set up. If Nintendo were to have another conf on the last day (thurs) it'll set the industry on fire. The last days are usually where all reps from publishing magazines go around and catch up on games they missed, nothing big ever happens on this day. Nintendo coming out of left with a conf would send everything into a frenzy. Editors would be running wild trying to get every detail of the story , pictures and interviews to make the cut for this month's issue. By coming out the last day, Nintendo, will also be the freshest thing on everyone's mind. Everyone will leave LA thinking of Nintendo since the shock factor will still be in. This move would completely steal MS and Sony's thunder.

All in all, there is something up, there's no doubt about that. Nintendo.com making reference to the Rev being behind closed doors somewhere in E3. Someone also made mention of seeing a place called Club Revolution somewhere on the E3 floor (no pics yet to confirm though). Gamespot holding this Reggie thing tomorrow at noon (eastern time). What I'm saying is that everything is in place for Nintendo to pull the rug from under all of us. Weather or not they do it though, is another question. I for one will stay level headed and not expect anything tomorrow but if there is something, I'd be more than happy to say the least.

"Gamespot tomorrow has something scheduled at 12 pacific time called 'A Man Named Reggie'"

That could just be an interview.  It's quite common for Nintendo reps to conduct interviews throughout E3.

I'm aware that it could be an interview as its title sounds as such but I find it strange that they would announce a time frame for it as if it were going to be live.  Usually interviews take place, then they have to be edited then put online.  I guess it could also be the time they plan on posting the interview for the public.

Just to add more fuel to the fire though, let me try and speculate.  My theory is really far out there and I highly doubt this is what it could be that gamespot will be showing.  I remember Nintendo making mention of how the Rev will sort of make a connection with the user.  The experience will be unique to each gamer.  I know it isn't exactly how Nintendo sayed it but I believe that to be what I got from thier theory on the Rev.  If the Rev is supposed to create a unique experience with each user, could this "A man named Reggie" be Reggie demonstrating this exact aspect of it.  He could show how he's made the experience unique to himself and that'll give us an idea on how revolutionary the Rev actually is.  I know its just me trying to start more debates but I guess its worth mentioning.

Something that does seem strange to me is the title "A Man Named Reggie"  The title sounds something similar to a bio.  Something like that would've been more at home last E3 when Reggie made his first impression.  We already know about Reggie, what more could there be behind "a man named reggie" that we need to know.  Again, Ima throw something out there for everyone to chew on.  Look at all the capital letters on the title   A M N R.  I guess the N and R could be Nintendo Revolution, what of the other 2?  A Massive Nintendo Revolution? lol  I can already see how many different variations I'll see on these letters lol.

EDIT:  This was taken from the Penny Arcade Forums

At the fake Nintendo ON video, when the timer hits 3:14, you see this:
Nintendo Revolution Day - 512.000.000

Now, bear with me:
512.000.000 : 1000 = 512.000 (Millisec. -> Sec.)
512.000 : 60 = 8533.3 (Sec. -> Min.)
8533.3 : 60 = 142.2 (Min. -> Hours.)
142.2 : 24 = 5.9 (Hours -> Days)

So there we have 6 days and May 13 (the day this video was leaked) + 6 days = May 19

Truth:   There is one problem with your thesis.  Nintendo doesn't run E3.  They can't just have a pop quiz press conference whenever they want.  And they can't really just change their booth around on Thursday to house something different as well.

It just seems bogus.  Too many people would already have to know about it.  It would have to be a scheduled event.  During the actual show there are few surprises to the event holders...if none at all.

Also, I doubt Nintendo would show favoritism to one Press member over another by having their BIG UNVEILING at Gamespot, and not for the entire press.  It isn't logical.

Please lets just drop it.

I don't want to get excited over nothing.

LOL  While admitedly its totally bogus, its genuinely entretaining to see how its spread like wild fire through the internet, check out any important page,gamespot,  GA, IGN, Nintendo.com and youl see a thread about it with speculation, theories and nonsesne. Its like that Mel Gibson movie where he was all into this kind of thing... I feel like i should put print outs on the wall

Anyways, the fact remains it makes litle or no sense..... I wish someone would ask Reggie or Perrin if they have heard about this or not...

Though, It would be really really interesting, if lets say, Nintendo reelased a Revolution trailer in the DS Download section of their E3 Booth?

Even if nothing comes of it, its truly incredible, and I hope to hell Nintendo had some hand in creating this whole thing.

Think about it... Nintendo is touting online as gaming's future, then they create their own little game...

Massively multiplayer, online, a puzzle/mystery game. Best of all no one is quite sure if they're playing or not.

Look at the painting in the club nintendo picture. Doesn't it look like sort of like this?
Think there's anything to either of these images?
“...there are those who would...say, '...If I could just not have to work everyday...that would be the most wonderful life in the world.' They don't know life. Because what makes life mean something is purpose.  The battle. The struggle.  Even if you don't win it.” - Richard M. Nixon

Cause the power went out at E3 specifically Nintendo and Sony's area!

I'm picturing Reggie storming into some sort of super high tech control room, kicking some android security guard into a million pieces, and snapping a couple of necks before announcing to someone else "The power is going down for 6 hours... I trust there's no problem with that"

All the video's are low quality and seem to be almost home video-ish, like an amatuer Nintendo fansite was there or something, and they all were addresses as such, but the Reggie video said "nintendo.com" at the end.

Liz = Elizabeth (Beth) Llewelyn, Senior Director of Public Relations, NOA
Andy = Andy Myers, NP magazine (which is getting restructured BTW)
Reggie = Reginald-Fills Aime, we all know him
There's a 4TH video, but it's not at the space I found...what's the name?

Something's happenning...does this space where these files are at Dan Owsen's personal space? Did Nintendo leave us a trail to something happenning tomorrow?
