I really wouldn't put too much stock in the videos.  I think they were simply an attempt to get people hyped up for the press conference.  For those that didn't see, there were four videos.  The starting video was apparently random, since I got Reggie first.  Once you got through all four clips, you looped through again in the same order.  I have a 56k connection, so two of the videos didn't work so hot for me, but based on what I saw:

Reggie Clip:  A very short clip.  Reggie appears and basically says, "Don't make me do it.  I'll take your name."  Rather amusing.

Female Clip:  There's a female Nintendo employee at a conference table (not Perrin Kaplan, Bill.  Do you even know what Perrin looks like?  Perrin is a brunette, close to middle-age lady who looks decent for her age.  The woman in the clip was young, had short blonde hair, and was quite frankly pretty hot )  Anyway, she's going through an itinerary - "We have the launch party on Tuesday, the website up on Wedensday, going to a presentation on Thursday - I'm looking forward to it - and on Friday"  At this point, the woman looks directly into the camera and says, "Guys, we are so busy.  Can you come back later . . ." And my connection went out from there, although I think there was a bit more.

Face Clip:  Basically concentrates on two eyes that look shiftily around.  I couldn't get to the end of the clip, so I don't know whether they panned down and showed the face frowning.

Male Clip:  I have no idea about this one, since it didn't work for me at all.  There's a guy at a conference table, and he's jibber-jabbering about the E3 presentation, but the connection here was so static-y that I really couldn't make out anything.

Just hype for the conference presentation.  Those who are putting undue attention on Thursday (and I have no idea why the focus is on Thursday in the first place, if anything, based on the clip it should be on Friday) are simply concentrating on one small facet of the videos to the detriment of the whole picture.

Wow, just wow.

Leave it to Nintendo fans to, if it is true, figure this out or, if it is not true, create this.

This makes the Never Happening look like nothing. I think this is even beyond a yotta, maybe a google.

Hmm, maybe it's Super Mario 128?
Quote

IGNcube: Nintendo previously stated that Mario 128 could be a GameCube title, and then it suggested that it might instead be for Revolution. Is Mario 128 for GameCube or Revolution?

Reggie: We're going to answer that question at E3. You know, we at Nintendo are probably waffling back and forth on what's the best thing to do. Legend of Zelda is going to be on GameCube. We're going to launch that this holiday. And there's more to come on what happens with Mario 128.

IGNcube: So we can expect to see something on Mario 128 at E3?

Reggie: Yes. In terms of how we're going to show Mario 128, though, it's likely that we'll show it in video form more than playable. We have so many great games in playable form already.

That's a straight out YES, and we haven't seen it yet. This is from an interview with IGNback in March.

You know what I think.

Quite simply.  Nintendo didn't show anything at the Press Conference for fear of being copied.  But I would suspect behind closed curtains with NDAs signed.  Nintendo is probably showing every game developer and a couple of Press members the new controller...and probably outlining the future better.  No pictures will be available, and I am sure Nintendo will be very specific with the press on what information they can talk about.

But, it just sounds to me like that would be the best way to rebirth some new hype, and more importantly present the Revolution to key developers, that don't already know everything...although realistically the 3rd party developers already know more than we think.

And those videos were advertising the E3 website.  I am sure Thursday will just be another update with more videos, and stuff.  Nothing to hype up.

Ok... I'm wide awake now and fully convinced that this is all just an elaborate series of coincidences.

That was fun while it lasted though.

Hmm..wouldn't it be frigging sweet if when the e3 doors opened on thursday Nintendo's booth contained playable revs which featured mario 128?  That would be the way to go.

But again, I don't believe any of this.

Everything this Aries fellow has supposedly said has come to pass at this point.  He nailed the downloading service of games, for one.

There's also pictures floating around of a "Club Revolution" room in Nintendo's display area.

Maybe Nintendo's holding back on Rev info so it WON'T STEAL THE SPOTLIGHT FROM THE GC/DS? That's just wishful thinking though.

Nintendo will show the Rev to developers and maybe some trustworthy members of the press behind closed doors and that is all.  Ian got it right when he asked why Nintendo would blow the conference only to "surprise" us later.  There's no reason to do that.  Nintendo is keeping Rev under wraps because it's still more than a year away.  Why cannibalize GameCube sales and give away the revolutionary secret?  And keep in mind that the secret seems to be tied into the controller...as soon as everyone sees it, Microsoft and Sony can easily copy it.  I just hope it's something worth copying!  "We put a water gun on it so you can all interact with Super Mario Sunshine in exciting new ways!"

Edit: spelling.
That's my opinion, not yours.

This is the definition of fanboy madness and yet I am so strongly attracted to this same madness. I remember the glory days of the Mega/ton and it was good fun. I would log-on just to find out that Nintendo had just bought Sega, Capcom and Namco on eBay for 860yen. People went as far as designing fake Websites to back-up said unrelated poppycock and we would sit back and just laugh. But this, this is on some crop-circle sith.
I will not fall to the madness,
I will not circum.
There is no conspiracy,
There is no Mega/ton.

Hey I just thought of something: What if they're just waiting for us to see StarWars then they do a demo producing the same type of effects on the Revolution in 3D and then...oh please, I can't believe I would even say something like that. I'm done.

I suppose its... possible.

To me what they showed (or rather, what they didn't show) made the Revolution portion of the conference basically pointless. The downloads thing is cool, but even that was light on details like cost/availability. I hate to keep repeating myself, but if this was all they're going to show I think they'd have been further ahead to not show anything at all. Just announce a Spaceworld or wherever as when "all will be revealed" and get back to stuff you can show concrete info about, like DS online.

I fully disagree there, the download thing has created a lot of hype. I know I'm pumped for it just on the idea alone. Also, let's face it, it's something that Sony and Microsoft can't copy as they don't have the same long history that Nintendo does.

I am sure Thursday will just be another update

The Prophet Aries said that "All would be revealed on the 19th"  I.E this Thursday.

Admitedly, to me its just drastic coincidence. Aries (Or Multiple Aries)  Somehow predicted everything from the Nitend conference, and also said Nintendo.com would be "Better than our colony". Nintendo.com had these odd videos somehow hinting at something on Thursday so 1 Plus 2 eauls this...

Why do it though?  Companies use the press conferences to show their new stuff, everybody is there so its the best day to show your stuff. Why do it later? Makes no sense and thus to me at least debunks this rumor....  fun though
