Theres this rumor spanning the boards that this has been in fact a "punk" that theres something going down on Thursday, as evidenced by some Mysterious Videos on nintendo.com and the words of the "prophet" ares...

It sounds bogus.... Has anyone seen these videos? Can I get a confirm please?

Yes, I can confirm that the pre-site at nintendo.com had some strange video clips...One had Kaplan talking about the things they had planned for this week...

On a related note, what the hell did Iwata mean by "later"? How much later? How infuriatingly vague.

He didn't say they wouldn't show the controller though, so there's a slight bit of comfort and hope that will no doubt be squished like a bug.

I really want to see this "revolutionary" controller, and I can't believe they didn't show it today. It would have been the ideal time to do it. I mean, come on, you have the entire gaming community watching and you don't show them something that you've been touting as revolutionary, it almost seems as if they're afraid of what everyone will think of it.

Yeah , alot of people are starting to wonder that his "later" sounded misteriously-vague. I thought so too when I first heard it, but didn't give much importance because his english sounds almost like Stephen Hawkings machine-speach but more human of course.

I just want to point out that these sort of rumors happen EVERY e3... and not once has nintendo made a huge announcment after the press conference...

That said, is it thursday yet?

Maybe one hour wasn't enough. Maybe they're hoping for an element of surprise.

But most likely this is a load of crock.

Don't mind me... it seems everything good that I successfully convince myself isn't happening happens anyway.

I highly doubt it. Pale is right, we hears these every time. Would I love it? Heck yes! But is it likely? Heck no!

Though reading PGC's summary of the event the Revolution doesn't sound so info-lacking. The only info we don't have is control, specs and footage.

I wouldn't care about any of those if they actually had the most important possible info at the event: that a ton of good games are being developed for it.

As it stands, right now the Rev is just a box that can play old games... and SSB online, and FFCC.

It seems you guys didn't see the clips on Ninty's site...They WERE very strange, and nothing like them have been used by Ninty before...That's not to say that MEGATURN will happen, but something WILL happen on Thursday...

I watched those videos many times. Why does "Thursday" have any significance? Am I just not remembering the wordage used in the videos?

They were short little clips that seemed to be taken from a some kind of board meeting. It had two different people discussing some kind of strategy about an imminent release, and then Reggie saying something like "Don't make me do it. I'll take your name!"

The videos were part of the countdown to E3 flash that was available only before the pre-show started on Nintendo.com. So I believe they're gone.
