Looks like we may just get an RPG after all. Some people say it will just be PC2, but all those screens are looking like an RPG. Of course this could just be like PC where there is an RPG mode alonside the colloseum mode. Guess we will have to wait and see!

Like what pretty much everyone is saying, that just looks like Pokemon Colloseum 2. It even has that same lame attempt at "mature" character design. Until I see a screenshot where the player is capturing a wild Pokemon I will not regard it as anything but more of the same. Despite the fact that it's one of the worst games Nintendo has ever made Pokemon Colloseum sold huge so I don't see any incentive from Nintendo to make anything but a crappy sequel to it.

We're NEVER going to get a real full 3D Pokemon RPG. I've just come to accept it. When it comes to Pokemon Nintendo is like EA. As long as stupid f*cks will buy half-assed Pokemon product Nintendo will never make something worthwhile because they don't have to. And by the time the crap stops selling Pokemon will be so milked and so unpopular that financialy it wouldn't make sense to make any more Pokemon games, even good ones.

Bill is right. Seriously, you guys are going way overboard with the cynicism. You can't tell anything from those shots except that it has almost the same graphics as PC.

But I'll be optimistic. It seems to me from the graphics that Nintendo is working on something other than graphics.

I don't really care. I won't be getting it either way.
However, it's definitely too early to tell anything. It's three screenshots or something. That's hardly evidence that it even exists.

Hrm, the "hero" looks like that jerk from Digimon...
But yeah, it's too soon to really tell. I never even heard about this until now. I will agree with the folks on the GA forums that the game really should be cel-shaded and have voice acting. At least have the Pokemon say their names this time!
I honestly would like to see Ash star in a new game myself. Perhaps make the entire game like a separate "episode" of the TV series.
Which reminds me, I really should finish Colluseum sometime. LOL

It isn't really too soon to hazard a guess...and you have to admit that the graphics look identical and that *usually* points to the same game engine, and if they were gonna use the same game engine, they would have to add a hell of a lot to make it our true pokemon rpg...

That being said, I'm sick of assuming nintendo will do stuff when a lot of things point otherwise....case in point, why the hell don't we know anything about the DSs online/demasked capabilities? Why does the DS not show any sign of being able to support these things? And why would they want to wait until the american psp launch? Don't the feel the announcment would affect Japan?

Color me confused....and doubtful...

The site hosting the pic apparently doesn't want to allow "clickable" direct linking.

Right-click on the link, select "copy link location", and paste it into your address bar. That worked for me.

Looks like ass, my first thoughts were "oh, damn, it's just Pokemon Collasseum 2". As a HUGE fan of the Pokemon GB games, Pokemon Colloseum is one of the worst games i've ever bought, and I hope this is NOTHING like it, but looking at the screen it looks like I won't be buying this. Those characters look awful too... even EA could make a better Pokemon GC game.

What does it matter if the game was just announced? Bill, do you truly expect the visuals to change? Pokemon isn't even a genre that benefits from motion, like say metroid prime would.
Anyway if this is a Collosseum game, it will likely suffer the same weakness of its predecessor, reliance on the gameboy for connectivity.

Like Bill has said, everyone calm down, your making it look like Pokemon Collosseum slept wit your girls or something and now your holding grudges. Let it go people. Anyways, about these new pics, they arent as bad as everyone is claiming. Ive seen alot worse in the past. Besides, these aren't even from the finished game, we don't know how the game moves or how the affects are in the game.

What if the graphics are low budget in order to allow a huge world to explore or to allow a vast amount of onscreen activitiy to take place.

No one knows how this will play out but I for one am expecting more than just a sequal to collosseum. I believe the last game was flirting with the idea of an rpg and was used moreso as a testing ground. It was mentioned that Nintendo is working with one or more big name companies on this pokemon game. I doubt Nintendo needs outside help to develope another rehash Collosseum game.

Basically Nintendo has upgrade their games (ever so slightly) with each successful sequal. Right now the question I'm asking myself is how big of an upgrade is Nintendo trying to do with its new Gamecube pokemon game, are they just going to expand on the sidequest rpg mode or make it a full blown rpg. The fact that Nintendo is working with another company on this game makes me think that something more is being planned. Anyways, I'll reserve judgement on the graphics when the game is closer to completion and I can see it in video or something.

Maybe it will its made by those G. S. guys maybe it will be a full RPG this time that shows some of their talent. (I didn't write the fully name of the developer because I always seem to get it wrong)

And I wouldn't complain about the graphics since the games the head of the group made didn't have any where near graphically acclaim at the time they were made.

I don't give a crap about the graphics, it looks like Pokemon Colloseum, which is a crap game, which naturally leads me to assume that this will also be a crap game.
