Does 3D World need a remaster? I cannot see them improving the way it looks or sounds. It would just be a DX release like the other Wii U ports. As someone who has still not played Sunshine I would be most interested in that remaster.
The short answer: No, not really.
Most games from the previous generation don’t
need a remaster, but it’s a good way to make the game available for people who missed it the first time around as well as a-holes like me who double and triple dip frequently. I’d buy The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker HD again, and I wouldn’t even think twice about it. I couldn’t throw my money at Nintendo fast enough.
A Super Mario 3D World remaster would definitely involve upping the resolution (because why not?) as well as probably replacing/reworking the Stamps that really aren’t worth much without Miiverse. I’d gladly take more stages. At the same time, 3D World is the one remaster I would hold off on since I played it most recently.
Super Mario 64 and Super Mario Sunshine are perfect for the remake/remaster treatment. Improve the camera, and I’d gladly revisit the games.
