Nintendo Gaming / Lord of the Rings Two Towers codes
« on: October 08, 2004, 08:36:31 PM »
Has anyone been able to get the cheat codes to work on this game? I've tried many times, but can't seem to get them to work. Is there a sound or something that indicates when the code has been properly entered?

Hey y'all, I've never really played an RPG, and I was looking to get into one. Can you guys and gals recommend one that's fun, addictive, and not too difficult? Thanks.

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Resident Evil question.

Here's why I was confused: it asks you how YOU LOOK at games. If you look at them as easy, you need a harder difficulty. If you look at them as hard, you need an easier difficulty. Therefore, the "mountain" option could be the easier option, if you look at it the way they ask you. I thought it was a trick question.

Why didn't they just say "easy" or 'hard" so dumbasses like me can figure it out?

I figured that, but which one is which?

Nintendo Gaming / Resident Evil question.

I just purchased the Resident Evil remake. I've never played a RE game before. My question: at the begining of the game, it asks you "what best describes how you look at games?" or something like that, and it gives you two options to choose from. What's the significance from one to the other?

Nintendo Gaming / Rogue Leader RS2 Question...

Can anyone tell me why, after entering the proper codes and hearing Artoo's noise of acceptance, I can't find the Buick or the Slave 1 in the hangar? Where are they?

Nintendo Gaming / A Super Monkey Ball Question...
« on: January 20, 2004, 02:21:09 AM »
I picked up SMB at the suggestion of  few members here, and I really dig it. The only problem I have is this: I turned on the Auto Save, but I can't seem to access the last game I played. It seems to be saving, but I can't figure out how to continue where I left off like most other games. I got to Floor 17 on the first night I got the game, and I want to see how far I can get, but I don't want to have to struggle through all of the previous 16 Floors all over again.

Can anyone help?

Hey!

I know we talked a little bit about this, but we didn't get very specific: is Super Smash Bros. Melee any good in single player mode? It's on sale, and it sounds like a must-have, but I play by my lonesome alot, and I don't want to buy a game that I can only play when my friends come over.

Hey y'all, I've moved my "best pick up and play games" thead over here (sorry mods, I didn't know if it fit into this thread exactly or not-- my bad). Anyways, I ask the age-old question: what games for the Cube are best for "pick up and play"? I don't always have tons of time to get into a deep story line, or time for getting used to a wacky control scheme. Sometimes I just want to play a game for a little while, and not have to think too much about it. Arcade-style. Just have some instant fun for a few.

I own and love Viewtiful Joe-- it definitely has that old school vibe, and it takes two seconds to learn the controls, and start whoopin' on people (er, robots). Super Monkey Ball has me curious. Some of you kind folks had some other good suggestions, but I'd still like to hear some opinions if anyone has any.

You really can never have enough games.

Man, you guys have loads of good suggestions. I've been looking at Super Monkey Ball for a while now, and it sounds cool-- simple and fun. I have also heard before that it is very challenging.

Thank you all for the suggestions so far-- keep 'em comin'!

Great suggestions, but what about games that are good playing solo? Those games sound like they're better with friends, but I play games solo alot.

I like to sometimes play games that aren't too involved. You know, games that you can just pick up and play-- arcade-style, without worrying about getting too into a story line and thinking too much. I like those types of games too, but can anyone suggest some games that are easy to get into (for a novice as well as advanced gamer), and are FUN?

No, nothing like that. It was just on the tv's "surround" mode. I just switched it off.

And Shifty, thanks for the welcome! This forum looks like just what I'd been looking for. Cheers!

Yeah, what I did definitely worked. Apparently, my tv's "surround" feature (that I had no idea was even on because I don't use the tv's speakers) puts alot of effects into the signal chain, so when I saw that it was on, I turned it off. I had a feeling that would do it, and sure enough it did!

I FIXED IT!!!

What I did was I went into my tv's menue and turned off the surround mode. Then I slapped in a game, and NO distortion!

Thanks for all your help, guys. Tonight was the first time I've posted here, but I will post more for sure. I think the Cube is the most kick-ass system out there, and I'll be glad to kick it wih other Cube fanatics. Thanks again.

Nah, I don't think that's it. It's in there pretty tight, and when I had changed to different cables, I always made sure each connection was tight.

How are you guys hooking up your systems? Are you hooking the Cube to the tv, then the tv to the recievers tv input, with the reciever obviously on the tv channel? Or is there a more optimal way? I used very expensive Cinemaquest cables for the audio from the tv, but they made little difference.

Not really, although I do think that the distortion comes only from my front speakers and not my rears. The weird thing is, it distorts at low volumes too! Not all of my games do it, only some that have deep bass-y explosions. And as I said before, none of my 300+ dvds ever made this noise, nor has any of my cds. It's weird, but I think the problem can be somehow corrected.

Other than that, I absolutely LOVE the Cube.

Nintendo Gaming / Horrible Audio Problems! Help!
« on: January 11, 2004, 01:31:40 PM »
I'm having some audio problems with my Cube, and I'd appreciate any constructive advice.

I have my Cube hooked up to my Sony Wega tv, and the tv hooked up to my Pioneer reciever. Whenever I'm playing the Cube, and an explosion happens, my speakers crackle with massive distortion. I doubt it's my speakers or reciever, because when I play a dvd cranked up (with explosions, etc.), or loud music, it NEVER distorts. I've only heard the distortion when playing the Cube, and only on certain games. This upsets me BECAUSE I WANT TO PLAY GAMES WITH LOUD EXPLOSIONS!!!

Does anyone have a clue as to why this is happening? Is it my settings or connection? I've used both super high quality cables, and cheap ones, and they're both about the same-- neither corrects the problem.

Please help before I go crazy!
