Nintendo Gaming / RE: Netgear WGT624

Sorry to bum you out KKD. I was bummed too. I was hoping to get some online playtime this evening. It won't happen now.

I purchased Mario Kart DS today and put it in my DS. I pulled up the Wi-fi set up and made it check for connections. All it can detect is the school's wireless internet and the guy who lives above me. It can't detect my router at all. I even tried putting my DS right next to the router and it still didn't pick it up. So is there anything I can do? Or I am just out of luck?

Has anyone tested the online with a Netgear WGT624? Nintendo knocked its compatibility rating from 2 stars to 1 and says it rarely connects. I won't be able to test it with Mario Kart until tonight (assuming I can find a copy of Mario Kart around here). I'm hoping I can still get it to work. Otherwise, I'm going to be fairly frustrated.

I got an e-mail back from Nintendo. Their recommendation was just to test my current wireless router, because it may work fine for the gaming. Now the only question is do I buy a USB adaptor for when I'm not at my apartment (i.e. when I'm at my parents' house).

Thanks for clearing that up Switchblade Cross. I'll try and mess around with it when I first get Mario Kart and see if I can get a decent connection going with my current set up. If that doesn't work, it may be time to buy Airport.

I guess that would be the thing to hope for. I really don't want to have to buy another router or to have to cart an old XP machine up here to play with.

Man, I thought this would be a good news day for me, but it's not. First, my normal wireless router (a Netgear WGTsomething or other) is listed as having compatibility problems. Then they say the USB adaptor thing is only for Windows (and all I have is a Mac here at college). Bah. What's a guy like me supposed to do to get my online fix?

Nintendo Gaming / RE:Secret of Mana Remake for the GameCube?

If it talks of vacation, I wonder if it's some kind of Magical Vacation-based Cube game. Magical Vacation used 3 character parties (at least I recall using them when I played the game). That'd be kind of nice if it were true. Secret of Mana would be nice too.

I imported Magical Vacation back when it came out (Christmas 2001). It's a very good game, even though I didn't get most of the story (I understand very little Japanese). If the new Seiken Densetsu is anything like it (quality-wise), it'll be a really great game.
