TalkBack / Re: Zach's Gaming Stuff: DOA5 Unboxing
« on: October 08, 2012, 04:57:33 PM »
I hope Wii U gets the Dead or Alive series.  Hopefully, we'll get an updated DOA5 sometime next year (with included DLC).

Also, it'll be neat if Tecmo re-releases DOA Dimensions for 3DS on the eShop.  I'll be nice to have on the go without having to swap carts, plus may help push sales.  I believe DOA Dimensions was first released at a bad time when the system was overpriced, and those who bought one later may not go back to buy an older game like DOA.

Very nice podcasts, guys.  :D   Thank you for the info and entertainment.

I only got songs 3, 4, 6, 9, and 10 correct.

Good for you, James.  Edu-ma-cation is very important.   Do your best! Get your learnin' on!

How is the ranking done with Janken with more than 2 people?

So, when the Wii U is out, where are you going to put it and its games?

I loved the show, guys.  I've only guessed songs 1, 4, and 5 correctly.  I knew the tune for #1, but was it ever used in any game?

How would I describe the show?  ...Yummy?
For some odd reason, the thought of fluffy carrot cake kept popping in my head.

The ending was great.  Please keep up the good work!

Have you played this game? Go back and look at ESPN 2K5. It's not like this is top-tier, but it looks and runs better than that.
I have Madden 12 for Wii, and it looks the same as 13, 11, and 10.  I think it plays very nicely (thanks to the pointer controls), but I prefer the more realistic look that past games had than the cartoony way the Wii games look now.  Everyone is super bright and colorful, which isn't a bad thing, but still, it could have been made to look better.

I still have ESPN 2K5, and I still think it looks better to me.  It's not perfect, but it's closer to how I'd like to have it.
I do appreciate how "sterile" the Wii version looks, though.

These games are fun, but...

I don't understand why the development team aren't trying to make the game at least better-looking than any of the last gen games.  Where's the effort?
Seriously, ESPN 2K5 for Playstation 2 looks waaaaay better, and that game was released back in 2004!

I had this playing while grinding in Dragon Quest VI for DS.
Loved the show and the details you guys gave.

I got 0 correct.   :'(

But I like some of the songs!
Thank you for the show.

The details about the Nintendo launch year and the time leading up to the launch were very interesting to me.   I'd like to hear more.

2001 next, right?

Thank you for playing and reviewing the game.

This game could have been something great.  After looking at gameplay videos, I was hoping that the game was going to ultimately turn out decently well.  It was the only movie tie-in that I was looking forward to, but man...I should have known better than to think that a movie-licensed game on the Wii would be any good.

Shame on me for having faith.
 :(

At least the game isn't terribly broken and unplayable.

The Classic Controller is *sometimes* a hero on the Wii.
It can save a game if it isn't too terrible.

I'm glad you've found something good outta this game.  For Wii U, I just hope that we don't get effort that's equaled to or less than what has been given to us this past generation from third party developers (the laziness has already started on the 3DS).

Is the Wii version any good?
There are no pro reviews on the internet even though the game's been out for weeks.

I agree that Nintendo Land isn't so grand.
What they could have gone with is an open world similar to games like Go Vacation, Fishing Resort, and We Ski & Snowboard on the Wii.

Scored 2/5
(Games 1 and 3 correct)

Game 5 gave me that Who Framed Roger Rabbit feeling, which just aired on Cartoon Network last weekend.

Does the Wii U Pro Controller have rumble and do both the Wii U Game Pad and Pro Controller have analog shoulder buttons/triggers?

About the Wii U Game Pad's shoulder button placement...
Why are the ZL/ZR buttons in weird positions and on top instead of being at the bottom?  They look hard to reach, like the Z button on the Gamecube controller.

With many multi-platform third party games making use of all 4 shoulder buttons, why didn't Nintendo just use the Pro Controller shoulder button layouts on the Game Pad, with the Z buttons on the bottom as trigger and having all four of them easily accessible at any moment while gaming?

I saw these problems at last year's E3, but since then, nothing about them has changed.
Is it too late for a redesign before launch?
How can this message get across to Nintendo?  Through media outlets?

Oh cool!
They're bringing over the arcade game.

They could, at least, made it look a lot better.

I'm shocked that nobody knew anything about the comic that inspired the expo itself.

I guess that happens when the learnin' stops and the playin' begins.
People need to be reminded from time-to-time.
