The Other Side of the Flagpole

Comic #2

by Alexandre Trottier - November 4, 2011, 11:06 am EDT

Another new Mario-inspired comic.

I remember when I drew this in one of my classes at school almost a year ago! I had no idea what I was getting into with it, but I'm certainly glad that I followed through with more of them! Whenever I play Mario games, it amazes me that finding all those red herrings never discourages him on his quest to find the Princess. I mean, all she's going to do is get kidnapped again anyways! I think the Mushroom Kingdom needs to invest in an alarm system or something...

You know Nintendo Power had Comics and that was one of the best parts.

What happened to Goombas?

Oh don't worry, you'll get your goombas! :)

There is only one reason he is doing it. He knows he is going to get laid.

The hole in the back of his hat in the second comic looks like his mind got blown out the back of his head from eating a bullet.

I was referring to the site's old webcomic. It was called Goombas.

I must be blind, because I swear in 1-2 Mario's hat is on fire.

Well I'll be! I just read through all of them, but it's too bad they only did 16. I would have liked to see how the series evolved over time.

Don't worry, you're not blind, his hat IS on fire! I don't think him having "his mind blown out of the back of his head from eating a bullet" like oohhboy suggested would be good for the continuity of the series. ;)

Hmm :/ So I guess NintendoWorldReport forgot about me. Haven't heard from anywhere in a couple months, so I've moved over to NintendoFuse. Check out the comic every Wednesday over there.

And this is why they need a news editor...
