A remake and a first North American entry in a series make up spots six and five.
#6 – Metroid: Zero Mission
This stellar remake of the original Metroid is in a league of its own, and might stand out as the best 2D entry in the series. With series veteran Yoshio Sakamoto at the helm, Zero Mission featured all the highlights of the original game, but with a map system, improved control, and more content. The ending of the game, which is completely new, features the debut of Zero Suit Samus. If you have any interest in or care for Metroid and you haven't played this, you're missing out. – Advance Wars

Like Fire Emblem, Advance Wars came to North America for the first time in this awesome portable entry. Featuring fast-paced turn-based combat, this military-themed strategy RPG was extremely well received when it launched in 2001. The series took off in North America, with a GBA sequel, two DS games, a GameCube iteration, and a Wii game. We'll see where the future lies for Advance Wars, but as it stands, the first North American entry in the series is a fantastic title. This game even got a 10/10 from us when it came out.
