How To Transfer Your DSiWare Games To Your 3DS

Perplexed? Wonder no more.

First off, you need to have both systems up to date, and they need to be hooked up to the Internet. Then, on your DSi, go to the DSi Shop and download the 3DS Transfer application, which should be located underneath the free applications. From there, use the application and follow the instructions to start the process on your DSi.

To set up your 3DS, you first have to turn it on, and then open up the System Settings. Select System Transfer from the menu and go through the steps listed. From there, your DSi photos, sound recordings, and games can transfer automatically. You can, if you choose, do a custom transfer where you pick specific games to transfer. Some games won't transfer.

The process takes a while, depending on your amount of games (I have 46 and it's likely going to take close to an hour and a half). Luckily, cute Pikmin will carry your data over from one system to the other.

Remember, once the transfer process is complete, you cannot play the game on your DSi. If you run into any issues, go to support.nintendo.com for assistance.
