For decades now experts have debated whether or not games have the ability to inspire emotions in people. While the debate has used games like Squre Enix’s Final Fantasy VII and 2K’s Bioshock very few have looked at Nintendo’s own efforts. This is mainly due to the fact that the designers at Nintendo prefer to create engaging gameplay over storylines and gripping character development.

Still, Nintendo has been able to create games that do inspire emotions in the player. Some games do so through their gameplay while others through their story events. In this feature we look at some of the most emotional Nintendo games ever released and analyze their most powerful scenes and their impact in gamers.
