wow.

Great show this week, guys.  As far as games permeating your thoughts after hours upon hours of gameplay, I seem to recall this happening back in 99-00 with Snood.  Ugh.  Stupid, stupid snood.

Man, that whole routine of getting stuck on a puzzle/challenge and not being able to sleep until you've solved it (and then you just continue to keep on playing) happens to me all the time, most recently with Batman: Arkham Asylum's Combat Challenge Rooms.

Thank you, but I hope you realize that Snood is the poor man's Puzzle Bobble (Bust-A-Move). I don't begrudge anyone for playing Snood for free online, but I'd have to laugh at anyone who paid for the DS version when you can just get the real thing on that system.

Oh, yeah, of course.  I had Bust-A-Move on my Game Gear back in the mid-late 90s.  It was a free version that was actually half decent, and it seemed to spread like wildfire in the dorms back then. 

No, I would never pay for the DS (or GBA) versions of Snood. 

I hope you never have nightmares about the dope fish or playing Mega Man and falling down a deep water level where a freakishly huge octopus pops out of nowhere and attacks you.

That's not a real Mega Man nightmare.  My Mega Man nightmare would be having to climb an endless flight of those fracking vanishing blocks.

I've had dreams about a variety of games, usually puzzlers (Panel de Pon, Tetrisphere-to name a few). I've also had quite a few Super Metroid/Fusion dreams. One of the weirdest ones I had was about Blast Corps. I had this dream where I thought they could redo the game by replacing the missile truck with a cargo truck carrying Wiis. As long as it was free to move at 1 mph, it was okay, but it if it hit a buildng and stopped, people would ransack it and steal the Wiis from it (it made sense in the dream).

It's better than my other recurring dream, where I'm stuck in a car and the brakes don't work.

Of course. There are only five or six bosses in the game, and that one is by far the most difficult. I really hope you'll power through it and enjoy the rest of the game.

Yeah, that boss sucked.  The worst part is it's a looooooooooooooooong boss fight and it doesn't really get difficult until the end during the underwater part.  It took me several attempts and by the end I was just pissed off because I kept dying when the boss had only a sliver of health left.  At that point in the game the only way to really succeed is by managing the puzzle screen very well.  If you're bad at getting combos you blow through your blocks too fast and you have nothing left by the end of the battle.

Oh, and great job gang completely not answering the first writer's question.  ;D  Nice tangent, though.

The question was about what we'd like to see in a "Wii Plus" hardware bundle. In response, Jonny said he's like to see bundles including software that could appeal to gamers who already own other systems, and I referenced the fact that a Wii + Wii Sports Resort bundle (the example of a bundle package cited by the writer) is already in the pipeline for the UK market. The discussion covered plenty of other ground of course, but we did not completely avoid the original question at all.

I interpreted the question a bit differently.

He asked what you would want to see in an 'elite console'.  Packing in Wii Sports Resort and Wii MotionPlus (or any other game for that matter) isn't an elite package--it's a bundle.  It's nothing that you couldn't get separately (albeit for more money).  An elite package would be a Wii system with a built-in hard drive, or Wii HD or DVD-playback or something like that.

I can see that interpretation based on the mention of storage in the question. If you look at the text here, you may see more clearly how I interpreted it the way I did:

Giving a Wii + Wii Sports Resort package as an example of what he's talking about led me to think that he wasn't talking strictly about new hardware features, though clearly that's on the table here as well.

But he also said "Nintendo has never done a thing like this" when they've clearly done software bundles a dozen times in the past (just never for Wii).

What he refers to as a "Plus" package is something unique that the current offering doesn't have--say, the ability to play DS games on your Wii.

Regardless, I guess I'm just being argumentative at this point.  Sorry!

Wow.  Much respect to Greg for sticking with the Bill's since the early 90's all these years, and overseas at that!  Pretty sure I've never seen such loyalty here in the states.

Well, you have to realize that Bills fans have gone into hiding in recent years, so you aren't hearing from them at all.  They're out there, though.  Anybody that grew up in the early 90's has some sort of soft spot for the Bills (well, probably not Cowboys fans, but they're sub-human anyways).

When I was young I loved the Packers, but I also rooted for the Bills for whatever Super Bowls I remember. My first clear football memory is the infamous Norwide moment.

I've always been a 49ers fan, and ever since Young left things haven't been that pleasant, but I've stuck with them.

Frankly, you guys don't know heartbreak till you've been a Jazz fan.  Consistently one of the top teams in the NBA since the early 90s and even went to the Finals twice with 2 future Hall of Famers in John Stockton and Karl Malone...and yet we've never won the prize, and all because of one guy from Chicago.  The rebuilding years between when Stockton/Malone retired and Deron Williams was drafted were particularly nasty, when there were probably college teams with more talent.  :-[

I'm a fan of the Cleveland Browns, a team that has yet to put together consecutive non-losing seasons during my lifetime.

Also, I hate the Bills, but only because the local TV is a Bills market. That means that this weekend when the Browns and Steelers (two teams that make up about 80% of the local football fans) play each other it won't be on TV here because the Bills are playing an away game and that means they have to show that because of contracts.

Oh no. Cubs fans still rule when it comes to heartbreak. Come see me once your wait extends beyond a century.

Indeed.  The Clippers have their completely incompetent management to thank for their total suckage.

The funniest thing is that they're owned by a billionaire.  That usually means success, but unfortunately that billionaire is one of the cheapest mofos to ever own a sports franchise.

There is a good article by Bill Simmons about "The Curse os the Clippers" at ESPN.com that I find to be terrifying. 

Fun fact about the owner of the Clips, he has been fined both for being a slumlord and discriminatory housing practices in his many apartment complexes, and yet has won an NAACP award by giving a big check.
