Solving cases and puzzles has never been cuter.

EA's MySims franchise has been busy since its debut in 2007. The lovable characters have lived life, saved a kingdom, partied hard, and raced in order to save a sleepy town. Now they are prepping up on their mystery solving skills for their next adventure: MySims Agents.

Like in previous MySims titles, Agents will feature a light but quirky story full of character and mischief. As a special agent, you are sent to foil the plans of the evil CEO of Morcubus Corp., by solving puzzles scattered throughout the adventure and searching every nook and cranny of the world.

In the role of a special agent under the command of veteran gumshoe Walker, the player will be given a great assortment of gadgets to solve puzzles as well as track down suspicious characters and underhanded dealings. A plethora of sleuthing skills such as forensics, witness interrogation, and even computer hacking will be used throughout the adventure. Anything goes when it comes to solving a case.

If playing by oneself becomes too overwhelming, players can recruit familiar MySims characters, such as Vic Vector and Dr. F, to create an elite team of secret agents. You can then send them on special missions that will make the investigation that much easier. Their skills can also be customized at the secret headquarters. Skills include Smarts, Paranormal, Charisma, Athletic, and Nature. Equipping the characters with various objects can affect their skills for the better.

The mystery will take the player all over the world, experiencing exotic locales such as ancient temples buried deep in the jungle, haunted mansions of the bayou, and even ski chalets on top of very snowy mountains.

In addition to the classic MySims characters, new characters have been created in order to enhance the charming story. Walker is a veteran agent that will serve as the player's guide to the world of Agents. Justice is a rugged wild man who will dispense helpful knowledge based on his life experiences. Of course, it wouldn't be a mystery case without a mysterious woman. That role will be played by Evelyn, a woman who first appears in the game to hand in the first case.

Finally, it wouldn't be a MySims game without customization. Players are able to customize the looks of their secret agent, such as changing their facial features and clothing, along with the option of building your own secret headquarters.

Players will not have to wait long to enjoy this thrilling adventure. EA will dispatch MySims Agents on September 29.

Talkback

I admit that I am hooked on MySims. While the first game was kind of buggy the concept was addicting, and MySims Racing was an enjoyable kart racer. This looks like it could be a fun puzzle/adventure game, and the new characters already have me hooked.

I remember John Davison having rather positive impressions of this game. This falls into that same category for me as that firefighter game as something I'd probably buy if I had more time and didn't already have way too much of a backlog and so much other stuff I want to buy right now.

Am I the only one who finds it ironic that EA of all companies is making a game about fighting an evil megacorp?

It's propaganda to get people to go against Activision.
