We go faster and faster in these four new tracks for the beloved Wii U racer.

I loved FAST Racing Neo when it released last year. The sense of speed, the various tracks and the controls just felt right at home with me. Sure, the difficulty was harsh = I never finished the final championship. I am sure that it can be done, but I will never quite be able to pull it off. That said though, more content for FAST Racing Neo is never a bad thing. This is why the introduction of the Neo Future Pack feels so right to me. It gives me a reason to give the game another shot with eight new tracks that will certainly destroy me. I got to try four of them at Gamescom 2016 and was quite impressed with their quality.

It began with Pyramid Valley. This track focuses on taking sharp turns and some incredible jumps. Out of the four I played, this one was actually the most in line with the rest of the game. There is one part in particular that stands out,. where a full boost is needed to get to a higher part of the track. Those that can pull it off are rewarded with an additional boost pad that will rocket them ahead of the competition. It was hard to get the timing down, but it is really worth mastering.

Iceland provides a new twist on the game. This track features long circular tube pieces with wide open movement. This is perfect for sneaking past the enemy and becoming the leader of the pack. While trying to make that perfect escape, robots and pillars will try to shock and stop you right there. You will need to adjust quickly or enjoy a swift and painful death. To pile on the insanity, there are boost pads there to make the track even crazier. At the end of this tube ride lies a hard hairpin right turn. Anyone unprepared for that turn is going to crash hard.

The third track is called Mori Park and features confined racing where movement options are limited. There isn't much room to move and quick reaction times are required to keep off the wall. Hitting the sweet spot means major boosts and nailing the flow of the race. There’s also get quick bursts of speed from travelling through colored gates. These gates don’t give a huge advantage, but there’s enough of an advantage that focusing to go through all of them is required.

Finally, we have New Zendling, which is actually a tribute to a borough in Shin’en’s hometown of Munich. Anyway, the track is city based with some incredible twists. There’s an upside down portion, a huge leap in the middle of the track and some broad, sweeping turns that make it a blast to play on. The course is filled to the brim with boost pads, so speed is everything here. New Zendling is also the most lively environment. There are buildings all around and a monorail train that follows you as go around the track!

Naturally, we will have to see the other four tracks play out, but I will definitely put down the money for this. Every track has its own purpose within the set and it makes the experience varied. Next to all of the tracks, the DLC also comes with ten vehicle profiles as well as eight new music tracks. If you haven't picked up the game in Europe, just be aware that a retail package will available on September 30. The downloadable content will be available separately on the same day as well.
