Two big discussions fill the Newscast this week: the measly Q2 release schedule, and console launch stories. As this console generation begins to come to an end, and this handheld generation begins, we look back at our favorite launch stories.

But while we're still in this console generation, we take a look at all of the Reader Rabbit games that you'll be playing in the next few months.

Why I enjoy the launch story this podcast is way to long for what it is.

Andy made me take the phrase "At the end of the day" out of my Pro Evo review. Hypocrite.

Ya, I really enjoyed the launch stories that were told this episode.

I consider myself a pretty big Nintendo fan, but when I think about it, the only two Nintendo systems that I ever purchased on launch day are the Nintendo 64 and the Game Boy Advance, neither of which yielded any entertaining stories.

GBC, GBA, DS(There at Midnight), Wii(Waited over 24 Hours in the Garden center of Walmart, the story is here somewhere I'm sure.), 3DS.  I would have had the GCN but didn't have the finance took me a while to get that and I got a speeding ticket getting it back to College.

Despite the dramatic increase of smartphone gaming, I still believe that Nintendo will be successful with handheld consoles with children as the primary audience if worse comes to worse. I have the sinking feeling that iPod Touches will drive Nintendo from the top and that I underestimate how willing parents will let their kids play with expensive electronics.

As for the hypothetical discussion of the Super Wii being a straight and predictable successor, I don't think it would be an outright failure. It will most likely be another Gamecube which wouldn't be too bad for gamers. It would probably be a disappointment for Nintendo after the crazy sales success of the Wii.

In defense of Obi-Wan on the Xbox, it was fun...if you really like Star Wars and can over look the N64 caliber graphics, awful camera, and a Scottish Obi-Wan voice. Controling the lightsaber was the coolest part of the game - it was mapped to the right analog stick, kind of giving you more direct control than what you have with simple button presses.

Anywho, Rogue Leader rocked my pants off. I enjoyed looking at the disc and case weeks after buying it in early November waiting for the GCN to come out.

I really hope Solotarobo comes out here.  I just have my DSi & 3DS.  Gave away my phatty.

I'm glad someone else knows what the hell I'm talking about.

To be honest, I did play the game a lot (it was my experience to an Xbox around launch), and I derived some enjoyment from it, but its just a pile of crap compared to Rogue Leader.

Most games are a pile of crap compared to Rogue Leader.

The way I got to PGC was by typing Gamecube Fansite into Google and following the first result. I got that system with Super Mario Sunshine after getting tired of samey games on the PC and figuring I could get the biggest difference from a Nintendo system.

Ironically I got here by the next gen console discussions on the forum...

I first heard about PGC from some staff writer encouraging people to stuff the ballot box in a GameFAQs character contest back before I realized those were more pre-determined than the NBA playoffs.

Found it again when I went looking for Nintendo podcasts in iTunes. (See kids, reviewing works.)

Rejoice NPR said the Light Rail in LA has just openned you could possibly Podcast from a train.
Long Live Roger Rabbit.

Awesome episode. All the launch stories were great fun to listen to.

I went to a midnight launch for the Wii, there was a girl Link cosplayer. We were all mucking around with her wooden Master Sword replica, until I dropped it and broke the handle. Was not fun when that happened.

I first learned of this site from a member on GameFaqs.  I was looking for Nintendo-related podcasts, and this site was the first that was listed.
