Planet GameCube is hosting it's first ever Super Smash Bros. Melee and Super Monkey Ball Tournaments during the Twin Galaxies’ Video Game Festival at the Mall of America.

MINNEAPOLIS, Minnesota (Planet GameCube) – July 9th 2002 - Two big GameCube Championships have been added to Twin Galaxies’ Video Game Festival at the Mall of America, scheduled for July 12-14, 2002, in the famous Sam Goody Center.

Hosted by Planet GameCube (http://www.planetgamecube.com), a Minneapolis-based Internet news web site devoted to the Nintendo GameCube and the Nintendo Game Boy Advance, major championships will be conducted on Super Smash Brothers Melee and Super Monkey Ball, with champions crowned by both Planet GameCube and Twin Galaxies.

Walter Day, Twin Galaxies Chief Scorekeeper and editor of the forthcoming Twin Galaxies’ Official Video Game & Pinball Book of World Records, says: “These two games are very important additions to the upcoming Book of Records and we are very pleased that Planet GameCube has agreed to conduct these championships in order to help us identify these top players for the book."

The Super Smash Brothers Melee Tournament will be conducted on Saturday at 2pm, (registration at 1:30pm) and the Super Monkey Ball Tournament on Sunday at 2pm (registration at 1:30pm).
