Cyplex is a new TV series featuring a hardcore gaming tournament and a serious look into the gaming culture. Read the first details on the show and how you can be a contestant!

Cyplex is a new TV series featuring a unified PC/console gaming tournament. The show is scheduled to air 13 total episodes in the year 2002, and the pilot has just finished production.

The goal of the show is to present a serious look into the gaming culture and the people that drive it: gamers. Contestants will be real gamers, chosen for their skills and personalities, and they'll be competing for a very real tournament purse...no details yet on the amount. The show will encourage conflicts and rivalries among contestants, presumably so that the audience can pick favorite "characters" and develop loyalties.

You can find out a little more at the show's website, http://www.cyplex.tv. Contestant recruiting is set to begin in January, and we'll be sure to update you on that process and the relevant requirements (age, location, etc.) to be a contestant. We'll also let you know about time and channel details; with the pilot just being finished, the show probably doesn't have a home just yet.
