Advance Wars Status: A-OK!

by Max Lake - October 16, 2001, 8:29 am EDT

Good news! Advance Wars plot for World Domination is still on track. PGC confirms Nintendo’s latest, greatest GBA game is not cancelled in Europe, nor discontinued in the USA.

Although reports in the UK Nintendo Official Magazine would have you believe that Advance Wars has been cancelled for Europe, it has actually been postponed until 2002. No further information has been released about the game or the reasons surrounding the delay.

The only first party GBA game for release in Europe this year is Wario Land 4, due for mid-November.

In commenting on last night’s story on the possibility of cancellation, Desmond mentioned unconfirmed reports of the game being discontinued in the USA. Fortunately, it turns out this is not the case whatsoever.

Gaming Age ran a story stating Advance Wars was actually selling too well, topping expectations and selling out. GameStop employees contacted GA and reported that the next shipment of Advance Wars is expected mid to late November. Until that happens the game appears in their computers as delisted.

Karlie Yeung co-wrote this report.
