The first Sega Sports title for GameCube has been announced.

Brace yourselves...NBA 2k2 is coming to GameCube, and that's official. The game will star the Philadelphia 76ers' Allen Iverson, and it's due to hit GameCube "in the first part of 2002".

Sega's Tennis 2k2 and NFL 2k2 are also going multi-platform, but they have not been announced for GameCube, and we can't say for sure if they will be.

It's worth noting that NBA 2k2 will support online play in its Dreamcast incarnation, and considering Sega's plans for Phantasy Star Online Ver. 2 on GameCube, that feature may very well be supported on Nintendo's system as well.
