Mario Kart 8 Deluxe launches this April for the Nintendo Switch, Nintendo announced during their Switch event.

The best-selling Wii U game will launch on Switch with both DLC packs and new characters included; the Inklings, King Boo, Dry Bones and Bowser Jr. were announced. A new battle mode is being added with Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast modes using both new and classic stages. Drivers can once again hold two items at a time, including the returning Boo item and a new Feather item.

A new "Smart Steering" control mode keeps young and new players on the road. The game will "play in TV mode in up to 1080p" and launch this April.
