WARNING: CHALLENGERS APPROACHING

We now have a date and time for Smash Bros's last hurrah for now.

The presentation, promising details about Cloud "and more" will go live on Tuesday, December 15 at 2pm Pacific, 5pm Eastern and 2200 GMT.

Talkback

SorenDecember 09, 2015

Man, they're really going all in with this whole final presentation.

Evan_BDecember 09, 2015

I'm going to keep my expectations low.

EnnerDecember 09, 2015

Inklings! It has to happen!

KhushrenadaDecember 09, 2015

Screw that! What happened to Bill after eating all the doughnuts before the clients arrived?!?! I stay awake all night trying to figure out what his fate will be. This is a bigger mystery than Who Shot J.R., Who Shot Mr. Burns and how did the BBC Sherlock survive his fall combined! And there doesn't seem to be any resolution in sight. Why, Nintendo, why.........

So, "Final" as in "this is the last of the update info the game will be getting", or "this is the video about the addition of Final Fantasy related content"? I'm calling your bluff, Nintendo.

Last Smash 4 specific Nintendo Direct evar.

nickmitchDecember 09, 2015

Oh wait, I see that you were making a funny now. Nevermind. I feel silly.

ShyGuyDecember 10, 2015

Last Nintendo produced thing ever. They're going 4th party.

kevtronDecember 10, 2015

Cloud can't be the last additional fighter so I am hopping to see 1-3 more in this presentation. The triumphant return of the Ice Climbers will not happen- no matter how much I pretend.  :(

You call that a conclusion?! There's still so much unanswered. Man, Nintendo needs to work on story resolution. Solid gameplay though.

Well there it is. I personally think part 3 was a good conclusion to the trilogy but there are still some loose ends that need to be tyed up. Would be open to a prequel trilogy if that is on the cards.

StratosDecember 11, 2015

I'm going to predict that we will see a Rare character in the game, like Banjo & Kazooie. Seeing that we are getting Minecraft on the Wii U I wonder if there is more coming from Microsoft.

StratosDecember 11, 2015

I also think we'll see Wolf back as one of he final returning character like we got Lucas, Roy, and Mewtwo.

I really wish talkback had a modify button

I really need more then 3 hours of sleep a night, that way I'd notice your post before mine that said the exact same thing 10 hours earlier. :(

At least my recent lack of sleep is because of getting into Smash Bros again so it's somewhat related.  Trying to finally finish that Challenge Wall before the newest wave of DLC hits really is not good for my health.

Loose ends? You're telling me! The thing is all spectacle and no soul. It mesmerizes the viewer with Reggie's sick dance moves so that you forget about plot until it's over and realize the whole thing is as empty as the boxes of doughnuts Bill ate in Part 1. I give The Very Important Meeting 8 stars out of 3.

I have very little hope that the upcoming Final Smash Video will be able to do much to enliven and add further depth to the world of The V.I.M. or Yokai Watch. This universe is dead and NoA should just give up the rights to the characters to NoJ so that the fans can get the Directs that they deserve and that will be done with the proper storytelling behind them. This kind of shoddy production wouldn't have happened under Iwata's watch. Nintendo needs to follow the DC formula and just throw all its characters and franchises into one movie to get them out into the public's consciousness and then do standalone movies of those characters after. It's only way to succeed.

Mop it upDecember 11, 2015

At first I thought this was a video showing the Final Smashes, as in the moves, and thought it was way too late in the game to be showing those off now.

StratosDecember 11, 2015

People have data mined Smash and there are three place holder character slots. So Cloud and two others?

An update could add more slots, though the style of the character select screen would be a mess.

Today's the day the teddy bears have their picnic!

And then that's it for Smash Bros. forever.
