No crying until the end.

A major update to both the 3DS and Wii U versions of Smash Bros is coming on June 14 at 11am ET / 8am PT, and adding some new big things.

The biggest news is that Lucas will go up for download after the update. The Mother 3 veteran will be available for $3.99 / £3.59 for a single version of the game (3DS or Wii U) or $4.99 / £4.49 for both.

The Miiverse stage teased in the Smash Brothers 50 Facts Extravaganza will be available with the update, and the Splatoon Mii costumes will also be added to the store, with Boy or Girl Splatoon outfits for $0.75 / £0.69 for one version, and $1.15 / £1.09 for both. A Squid Hat will also be added for the same prices.

I can't help but feel that the exact date they chose for these specific announcements is somewhat ominous.

I can't say I care for this character and didn't really like his moves in Brawl, so I won't be buying. $4.99 is too much, maybe at 99 cents I would have. The only way I would is if they release a discount bundle for characters.

The new stage should be good though.

I'm not at all interested in paying money to bring back old characters when there are already 49 in the game...

UGH! Lucas was my main in Brawl, so I'm pretty compelled to buy, but $5 is a bit much.

Still gonna pay it. :^/

I'm not a fan of the price, but I'm going to buy all characters (and stages of that becomes DLC which I fully expect). I didn't even really like Lucas in Brawl. A character bundle would be nice.

I figured Nintendo is releasing Lucas before E3 because its announcing another character or two during the digital event.
