Just how much of the speedy hedgehog can you handle?

All three Sonic The Hedgehog games in Sega's recently revealed partnership with Nintendo will launch within this calendar year, according to Nintendo Germany.

The partnership, which was announced at the Nintendo Direct presentation last month on May 17, consists of Mario & Sonic At The Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games, the latest crossover title between the portly plumber and the blue blur, and Sonic Lost World. The third game is expected to be unveiled shortly.

These titles are all coming out exclusively for Wii U and Nintendo 3DS.

And only Lost World will be worth playing, and even then that's iffy

TJ SpykeJune 02, 2013

The Olympic Games are good (though not great), and Lost World looks amazing in the trailer.

We don't know what the third one is. It's a bit early to make that claim...

Sonic Shenmue 3, or Maybe Sonic Seaman.

ooh! Sonic Panzer Dragoon!

MataataJune 02, 2013

Isn't it obvious? The third game is Sailor Sonic.

Hail23June 02, 2013

I've never played the Olympic Games, and judging from this one, it will be my first one that i will get. Sonic Lost World, I will also be getting for sure. I hope that third sonic game will be badass.

Kytim89June 02, 2013

Hopefully the third game will be Sonic Chronicles 2 for the 3DS.

SorenJune 02, 2013

The Olympic Games series is worthless without proper online multiplayer.

That being said: they sure are games, and they're coming out this year.

its probably a Sonic 06 sequel... or a mario kart/sonic crossover

nickmitchJune 02, 2013

There is a Kart crossover rumor circling about.

or Sonic 5 as a Wii U exclusive...

ShyGuyJune 02, 2013

Sonic Adventures Wii U.

This 3rd title doesn't seem like an action adventure title at all considering how close it would be launching to Lost World.

I feel like announcing some type of 3 game exclusivity deal doesn't really mean much when one of the titles has to be exclusive by default and if there really is some truth to Mario and Sonic Kart it would be in the same boat as the Olympics.

This exclusive 3 title deal is just some kind of test(I can't elaborate) or the 3rd game will be completely different from regular Sonic and sports Sonic. Which brings me to believe the 3rd title could very well be a Mario and Sonic traditional party game, a Sonic RPG(would be fun to see attempted again), or even a Mario X Sonic RPG(yes please!). You know what? That's exactly what's happening so count it!

Please don't count it.

azekeJune 02, 2013

Rushed development?

Sega, i really hope you actually did the QA work on Lost Word and whatever the third game is.

RABicleJune 03, 2013

Godammit, just let Sonic die please.

Pixelated PixiesJune 03, 2013

I don't think I've ever enjoyed a Sonic game before, so having three in one year really doesn't do anything for me. Still, I'm glad to see Nintendo platforms being supported and I'm sure Sonic fans will be over the moon.

I see it is mentioned above but I would not be surprised if the crossover game is racing seeing as the Sonic and All Stars game was received well and sold well on Wii U and Mario Kart 7 was criticized a bit for lack of innovation, though it sold well.

It's more like Nintendo needs Mario Kart out for the Wii U this fall but EAD 1 has a lack of experience with developing HD games since they've never done it before, so Nintendo has hired Sumo Digital, the developers of the Sonic Racing games to help with development so the game will be out in time for the holiday.

Since it's the Sonic Racing people, they'll get to put some Sonic characters and Sonic related levels into the game into the game as thanks for their involvement.  Similar to how Pac-Man and Ms Pac-Man were playable in the Mario Kart arcade games because Namco got to develop those.
