GameStop is selling 3D Classics: Kid Icarus for a limited time.

GameStop is currently selling 3D Classics: Kid Icarus as a timed exclusive. The enhanced version of the classic NES game was released alongside Kid Icarus: Uprising as a preorder bonus from select retailers in North America; however, a download code for the title can be purchased in-store or on GameStop’s website for $5.99 for those that missed out on the promotion.

At this time, there is no date for 3D Classics: Kid Icarus’s release for purchase on the eShop in North America, but Nintendo’s site clearly states that the game will only be available at GameStop for a limited time.

Unlike in North America, Nintendo released 3D Classics: Kid Icarus in both Japan and Europe through a Club Nintendo promotion that involved registering two 3DS retail titles to receive the game. Additionally, the game is also available in both the Japanese and European eShop.

This store exclusive bs is some of the most anti-consumer garbage ever. Ugh. Don't support it.

I won't support it. Of course, we don't have a choice in Canada - it's not listed on their website and the store I asked didn't know anything about the game.  Too bad: this was the first 3D Classics title that I'd actually be interested in owning.

The thing is, though, is it a timed exclusive for GameStop in that it'll be sold on the eShop later, or once it's done for at GameStop, you can't get it later, at all?

I'm sure UncleBob Pre-ordered the game has it.

Nada. I have three copies, but none came with the preorder code...

You didn't pre-order one of those from Amazon or something.  Shoot, I pre-order mine just so I would get the 3DS Classic.

OblivionApril 04, 2012

You bought three copies of Uprising? O_o

Nada.  I was waiting for the dust to settle on all the pre-order offers.  I can buy the download game by itself... and I'm not a huge fan of it anyway.  The cards, however, are what I wanted. :D

You didn't?

I've bought a grand total of zero copies of Uprising.

You really should fix that; it's one of the best games on the system.

I would If I had the money. My wish list is Uprising, Revelations, I am alive, and Journey.

UncleBobRichard Cook, Guest ContributorApril 04, 2012

FWIW, Best Buy has Uprising on sale for $30 for the remainder of the week.

I'm paying $1/card for any of the pack-in cards I still need. :D

I'm saving for a laptop for college. Sorry!
