The Layton developer has something up its sleeve.

During a company meeting, Level 5 President Akihiro Hino stated that games were under development for PlayStation 3 and Wii that have not been announced yet.

The Fukokoka, Japan-based developer is currently working on a sequel to White Knight Chronicles for PlayStation 3 and The Another World on Nintendo DS. It is unknown what these unannounced titles might be, but it may be Inazuma Eleven Break, which has been announced for unspecified console release.

In related news, the developer is considering opening a branch of the company in North America, according to a report from 4gamer. Having just opened an office in Tokyo, Hino reportedly announced plans to open another in North America that will focus on publishing games.

A shining of example of a developer doing all they can to deliver nothing but quality content and expanding.
They are the up and coming breakout developer of this gen so far.

These guys do seem to be making quality games. That fact that they are doing well enough to consider expanding is a good sign.

Level 5 is the game company of the decade. I really hope they open an American office, if only to publish their own games from Japan. (They can start with DQ9, as it looks like Square Enix is in no hurry!)

Funny if you consider their biggest franchise sells best in Europe...

I will emit a squee the likes of which the Internet has never seen if they announce The Another World will come to the US.

Meh, whatever.  I'm not the biggest fan of Level 5, finding Dragon Quest VIII and Rogue Galaxy spectacularly average (and the reviews for their latest title, White Knight Chronicles, seem to put that as below even the already mediocre standard of those 2 titles.  I'm just indifferent on Professor Layton).

Hopefully, whatever's coming from them on Wii is dramatically better than what they usually put out.

Did this company do PilotWings or am I thinking of some other company?

Rising like a Phoenix from the ashes of the Shovelware heaped over the gaming landscape by the likes of Ubi, EA, etc. What this shows is that not all 3rd parties are terrible.
