Details on the WiiWare title emerge, along with a Japanese release date.

Square Enix’s My Life as a Dark Lord, a sequel to last year’s My Life as a King, was first announced at this year’s Game Developers Conference. The title stars a demon named Mira (Miss as she is currently known in the American version) whose mission is to defend her dark tower from adventurers seeking to take her dark crystal.

The game will be a tower defense challenge in which players will use negative force to place traps and monsters around their tower, preventing adventurers from reaching the crystal.

My Life as a Dark Lord will be priced at 1000 Nintendo Points, and will be available on the Japanese WiiWare service in June. Details on release in other regions have yet to surface.

It certainly looks strange. The 1000 point price is lower than MLaaK's, I wonder if they determined that's a better selling price or if it'll be simpler than MLaaK.

It's just a tower defense game, that is why. Tower defense games are almost always pretty simplistic, $15 would have been a little too much for one.

What is up with the fascination developers have with tower defense games right now? A year ago I had never even heard of the term, but in the lat 6 months or so there have been dozens of paid tower defense games and many more free ones.

Another tower defense game?  I was hoping for something like Dungeon Keeper.

I seem to froth over the Dark Slut Mira.

They took Chime's delicious Selkie design and added other spices to it.
