Rockstar's Social Club website to allow users to earn money on the web and transfer it to the DS game.

As observed by MTV's Multiplayer blog last week, Rockstar's recent DS game, Grand Theft Auto: Chinatown Wars will interact with flash games on the developer's Social Club community website. The Social Club currently allows users to upload statistics from the DS game in order to track them online, but this new functionality expands such interactivity considerably.

Using technology provided by GameSpy, Mr. Wong's Laundromat is a money-laundering game that will let users upload money earned in the DS game over Wi-Fi, earn more money on the web, and then download that extra money back to their DS for use in the game. More flash games are also planned according to GameSpy's senior product manager Sean Flinn. It's also highly likely that this flash game interactivity will be extended to Rockstar's console titles in the future.

Talkback

Cool concept, but not especially useful since it's already so easy to earn money in the DS game.
