Controller to release sometime this month.

According to Nintendo’s Japanese website, a White Gamecube Controller is due out this month in Japan. The controller will be released at a 2,000 Yen (approximately $20) price point. The cord will now be three meters long, 50% greater than the length of the original GameCube controllers.

Currently the Gamecube controller is used for a variety of functions on Wii. These functions range from playing Gamecube games on Wii, use in select Wii games, and use with downloaded Virtual Console games. Advertising for games such as Super Smash Bros. Brawl and Mario Kart has flaunted the compatibility of the games with many different control schemes, including the GameCube controller.

There is no word of release in other territories at this time, or any mention of a re-release of the wireless Gamecube controller, the Wavebird.

I hope we see this come out in America.
I really do...

The longer cord is nice, but the wavebird is the greatest controller EVER.  IT'S JUST NOT THE SAME.

Enner April 11, 2008

Ah, I wish I had a Wavebird.

Still, nice of Nintendo to make some more GCN controllers.

I could use an extra cube controller.

i thought they lost the mold...? or was that just the wavebird.

UncleBob April 11, 2008

Wavebird, from what I was told.  And they didn't lose it, they destroyed it. :(

Even though I have five 1st party GC controllers (all different colors, including 1 WaveBird), I still want this.  Call me milked.

I need new controllers badly.  I only have three and they each have some slight problem with them.  The analog sticks on the two corded ones aren't tight anymore and are always going in one direction ever so slightly.  The Wavebird is doing a little better but it's got problems too.  One major one is that the battery "door" keeps falling off.  One of my brother's most irritating and stupid habits is to play with those things.  Usually it's on TV remotes but he does it on the Wavebird too and sure enough now it's f*cked, just like how many of our TV remotes are.

Anyway I want Wavebirds and I honestly don't consider "but we destroydered teh m0ldz" as a valid excuse.  Then take an existing Wavebird and use it to make NEW MOLDS!!  And this time don't destroy them, dumbass. ;)

I will settle for these if they release them here though.  Still longer cord?  You sh!theads destroy the Wavebird molds and then you DRAW ATTENTION to that by making the cords longer?  If the cords are too short making them longer is not an acceptable solution when you already gave us wireless controllers years ago.  Why don't you just re-release a Gameboy with colour overlays while you're at it?

Well ideally I would want a wireless/rumble combo the same size as the original GC controller that was Wii white and connected directly to the Wii without a dongle.

Seeing as Nintendo hates me and will never make that I would gladly settle for matching white GC controllers with a long enough cord to actually reach my couch.

Omg!!! This is awesome! Are controllers region free? Because I am importing these babies if they are!
